Cleer Audio’s Alpha and Goal II Honoured at CES 2022
Cleer Audio's latest Bluetooth headphones, the Dirac Virtuo-packing Alpha and Goal II active earphones, have received CES 2022 Honouree Awards.
Cleer Audio's Alpha and Goal II are full-sized intelligent ANC headphones and active true wireless earbuds, respectively. Thanks to the company's innovations, CES has recognised them through its Honouree Awards.
CLEER ALPHA
Firstly, the Cleer Alpha features Dirac Virtuo, an “immersive theatre-like” sound treatment from the Swedish digital audio processing pioneer.
Furthermore, the wireless intelligent noise-cancelling cans boast Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation and are loaded with the firm's patented 40mm Ironless drivers.
Meanwhile, Bluetooth 5.1 (with support for aptX Low Latency), Qualcomm's cVc two-mic solution and a commuter-friendly 35-hours of playback in ANC mode. In addition, a 10-minute quick-charge via the USB-C port provides 4.5-hours of listening.
Cleer's Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (AANC) solution is said to automatically alter the levels of noise cancellation by detecting changes in the frequency of sound coming at you and adapting in real-time. Clever stuff, which is possible thanks to a 24-bit, low-power stereo codec based on a one-bit delta-sigma modulation to support an adaptive approach to noise suppression, says Cleer. The upshot is that this continually reacts to what's required in different listening environments while maintaining an open and clear audio performance.
Additionally, the Alpha features upgraded ear pads, complete with a cooling feature, which should further increase comfort, especially when the warmer weather returns.
Also upgraded is the Cleer+ app, which we are told now has a simplified interface with reduced buttons in favour of swipe controls. A move that should result in fewer errant button presses and lead to a better overall experience.
CLEER GOAL II
Also, a CES 2022 Honouree, the Goal II true wireless sports earbuds feature funnel-shaped ear tips that rest inside the ears without completely closing off the ear canals. The design is so that you can hear and locate the sounds of cars, people, and such.
The Goal II's custom-tuned 14mm dynamic drivers promise an “exceptional range” of sound. You can control Goal II via the touch panel or Cleer's app. Alternatively, Goal II offers a hands-free experience with Cleer customised voice command and gesture control.
Cleer Audio Alpha are now available to buy in midnight blue or stone, for £250, whereas the Goal II cost £99.
