Cabasse Rialto Connected Bookshelf Speaker System Revealed

Cabasse's Rialto packs the French firm's connected speaker know-how into innovative bookshelf loudspeakers featuring an LCD touchscreen control.

Rialto is Cabasse's first connected active speaker available in a classic bookshelf format and is said to be the result of the brand's historical acoustic know-how and the integration of the latest software connectivity technologies developed by Cabasse Group's R&D teams.

Taking the name from Venice's famous bridge, Cabasse states that its Rialto speakers are the junction between Hi-Fi and connectivity. Composed of a pair of bookshelf speakers, the result promises to sport the best acoustic and software technologies.

Naturally, the compact (26 x 20.6 x 23.9 cm) Rialto features Cabasse's signature technology that places three speakers on the same axis. Featuring a 13 cm coaxial carbon fibre midrange tweeter surrounded by a brushed aluminium frame, it creates a single source point enabling the sound to travel coherently and naturally without interference and artificial colouring, through a frequency range of 30 - 27,000 Hz, says the brand.

This is further enhanced thanks to rear-firing, patented 17cm HELD (High Excursion, Low Distortion) woofers capable of delivering powerful, deep, accurate, and distortion-free bass. We are informed that the driver design enables a very high excursion without the magnet coming out of the field for maximum impact without distortion.

Additionally, DEAP (Digital Enhancement of Acoustical Performance) technology ensures power while maintaining distortion-free rendering of peaks. Another Cabasse-patented technology, DEAP is said to enhance the performance of the loudspeakers via dynamic multi-band signal processing with feedback loops and so comfortably exploits all the available power from the amplification (121 dB peak stereo).

Finally, Cabasse's patented automatic room calibration is also on-board to deliver optimal listening quality via inbuilt microphones.

The Cabasse Stream CONTROL app hands you access to optimisation tools and can group Rialto with other Cabasse connected systems, such as The Pearl range. In addition, you can connect your TV to the speakers and control the volume with your TV remote thanks to integrated e-ARC. Other connections include Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Optical SPDIF, Analog RCA and USB. Streaming services TIDAL, Qobuz, Deezer, Napster, Web Radio and Spotify are also supported

Alternatively, you can use the integrated colour LCD touchscreen on the main speaker. This offers volume control via a rotation ring, source selection and radio shortcuts. Additionally, the screen displays album artwork of what is being played.
