Ausounds AU-Flex ANC Noise-Cancelling Hybrid Earphones
Ausounds has launched the AU-Flex ANC, a wireless noise-cancelling neckband model, focused on audiophile sound quality.
Ausounds' AU-Flex ANC has landed in the UK, fresh from scooping a prestigious CES Innovations Award in the US.
Featuring Ausounds' bespoke Planar Magnetic Drivers comprising an 8mm membrane driver surface suspended between a dual magnet opposing motor system, the AU-Flex ANC promises a superbly accurate and articulate musical mid-band reproduction.
The Planar Magnetic Driver crosses over to a traditional 10mm dynamic driver for low frequencies that has been explicitly designed to deliver outstanding bass richness and depth, says Ausounds. The result is a quoted frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz and an SPL of 99dB.
The final piece in the puzzle is Ausounds' advanced ANC system. We are told that this has been designed to have the minimum impact on music reproduction and sound quality.
Wireless connectivity is via Bluetooth 5.0. Also, the AU-Flex ANC benefits from Sony's LDAC audio technology. The latter handing you up to three times the data transmission rate of basic Bluetooth (990kbps vs 328kbps), without any down-conversion of Hi-Res Audio content up to a maximum bit depth and frequency range of 96 kHz/24 bit. Ausounds says that the result is unprecedented sound quality whether listening to low-bit streaming from a phone or Hi-Res Audio from a dedicated audiophile player.
Comfort is catered by way of three different sizes of silicone ear tips being provided. Furthermore, the AU-Flex ANC's standard-size metal nozles means you can also use third-party tips. Additionally, the AU-Flex ANC is IPX5 waterproof so you can sweat worry-free.
With the neckband design offering space for higher capacity batteries, you get 10 hours playback from a single charge with ANC switched on, extending to 15 hours with ANC off.
Ausounds AU-Flex is available now, priced around £229.95.
