Audio-Technica AT-LP3XBT and AT-LPW50BTRW Turntables Announced

Audio-Technica's AT-LP3XBT automatic and AT-LPW50BTRW manual turntables are pitched as “analogue audio for the digital generation”.

Audio-Technica has revealed its successor to the AT-LP3 turntable in the AT-LP3XBT, alongside the newest edition to the brand's line of fully manual, belt-drive wooden turntables, the snappily-titled AT-LPW50BTRW.

AT-LP3XBT

The AT-LP3XBT promises all the benefits of vinyl with the freedom to connect cable-free to the latest speakers or headphones thanks to the combination of Qualcomm's aptX Bluetooth audio codec and the renowned AT-VM95C cartridge.

Highlighting the user-friendliness of the LP3XBT is its fully automatic belt-drive turntable operation with push-button speed control offering 33-1/3, 45 RPM.

Additionally, the turntable benefits from a damped base construction for reduced low-frequency feedback colouration partnered with an anti-resonant, die-cast aluminium platter with a felt mat. This is rounded off with a balanced straight tonearm equipped with an AT-HS3 universal headshell, hydraulically damped lift control and rest. Furthermore, the fitted AT-VM95C cartridge is compatible with any VM95 Series replacement stylus, offering a wide choice of options for every budget and application.

The onboard aptX Bluetooth allows connectivity to speakers and other devices equipped with the wireless tech. You also have the option to hook the LP3XBT to audio systems, and powered speakers via the included dual RCA output cable and the built-in switchable phono/line pre-amplifier.

AT-LPW50BTRW

If you demand a more traditional approach, the wooden finish and fully manual operation of Audio-Technica's AT-LPW50BTRW might be more appealing.

The LPW50BTRW's 30mm-thick MDF (medium-density fibreboard) plinth is covered in eye-catching rosewood-finished veneer. Meanwhile, rotational speed accuracy is governed by a sensor-monitored motor, while the straight carbon-fibre tonearm has adjustable tracking force and comes with a matching matte-silver AT-HS4 universal ½-inch-mount headshell.

This is fitted with a high-performance black AT-VM95E Dual Moving Magnet cartridge with a 0.3 x 0.7mm elliptical stylus. The cartridge is compatible with any VM95 Series replacement stylus, offering a wide choice of upgrade or replacement options for every budget and application.

The built-in selectable phono preamp and detachable dual RCA output cable enable direct-wired connection to components with or without a dedicated phono input.

The Audio-Technica AT-LPW50BTRW and AT-LP3XBT (in black or white) will be available from the 31st August 2022 with RRPs of £419.99/ €499 and £280/ €329, respectively.
