Audia Flight FL CD Three S Announced

Audia Flight has announced its FL CD Three S CD player.

The Italian high-end audio brand has revealed its FL CD Three S that sports solidly built casework featuring a 10 mm thick aluminium front panel inset with a blue display which goes some way to explaining its 15 kg weight. Matching this is the typically stylish remote control, hewn from a single aluminium block.

The transport, we're told is “not just another computer drive”, instead is optimised for single speed playback. This is partnered with a pair of AKM4493EQ 32-Bit DACS (one per channel) with “velvet sound” technology.

Additionally, you get a choice of six Digital Filters, one being a “modernised version” of the original Flight CD1 filter.

Also adding to the overall heft of this CD player is the pair of toroidal transformers. These individually supply power to the analogue (58VA), and the other digital (36VA), circuits. Furthermore, the analogue output section of the DACs is fed from the analogue power supply as well.

Audia Flight FL CD 3The FL CD Three S boasts Class A output using discrete current feedback technology. There are balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs available as well as a digital output.

There is an optional input card with five digital inputs (2x Optical, 1x AES/EBU, 1x Coax, 1x USB) that can be added at a later date should you find the need. The USB input allows for 32/384 PCM and DSD 512 if that tickles your digital buds.

All digital inputs are optionally upsampled up to 32bit 768KHz.

We are awaiting confirmed UK pricing and availability at this time.
