Atlas Cables Eos Modular 2.5 Power Distribution Block Launched

Atlas Cables has launched the Eos Modular 2.5 power distribution block, designed to replace existing cheap multiway power blocks with a quality connection.
The Eos Modular 2.5 six-gang power distribution block from Atlas Cables is housed in an aluminium chassis and utilises 2.5mm² copper conductors in its internal wiring. We are told that this ensures unimpeded power transmission between individual sockets with minimal resistive losses.
Atlas Cables states that 'household' mains distribution blocks and extensions often used for audio/AV systems can contribute to performance degradation as they offer little in the way of shielding. Furthermore, the company adds that these units typically incorporate noisy neon power indicators, fuse holders and low-grade wiring/bus bars, which are all points of weakness. However, the Eos 2.5 is touted as a robust, no-nonsense screened power extension block designed and built to deliver unimpeded power to audio system components.
According to the Kilmarnock-based company, each socket is optimised within the highly conductive aluminium chassis for low contact resistance and minimal resistive losses. Additionally, the manufacturer states that significant RFI screening is achieved when the Eos power block is used with Eos dd, Eos 4dd, or Eos Superior screened mains cables.
An integrated direct ground drain path for screened interconnects, and cables featuring Atlas Cables' Grun Coherent Earth system apparently reduces the system noise floor still further.
Finally, rubber studs or conical spikes bring an additional level of mechanical isolation or coupling, with an integral wall mounting option.
The Atlas Cables Eos power distribution block is available now with UK, Nema and Shuko outlet versions, costing £395.
