Zidoo NEO S Releases Seriously Capable All-in-one for Audio and Video
Zidoo has been gaining a lot of cred from AV enthusiasts over the last 18 months, and its new NEO S, the high-end audio-visual all-in-one, is sure to be no exception.
The NEO S is a hi-fi music digital decoder, network audio server, AV streamer, headphone amplifier, and more. It inherits the highly-acclaimed NEO X's craftsmanship and sports an aluminium thickened chassis and 5-inch OLED touchscreen. Built-in is a 256G SSD, dual ES9068 DACs, dual discrete digital/analogue power supply modules, and large toroidal transformers.
Anthony Camplone, Operations Manager of Fundamental Audio, told StereoNET:
The audio and video performance of the NEO S is nothing short of stunning. It's not often a piece of gear comes along that both audiophiles and cinephiles will be bowled over by.
It boasts multiple digital audio inputs, including USB, Optical, Coaxial, and AES/EBU, making it an excellent solution for digital Hifi enthusiasts. The USB input supports asynchronous digital signal processing, which can be used when connected to a PC, external streamer, and IOS/Android phones or tablets via OTG.
Using two ES9068 DAC chips as the core of audio decoding, two-channel audio is decoded independently to avoid interference and better SNR and dynamic range - supporting the following formats up to DSD512 (SACD ISO/DFF/DSF/DSD), PCM768@32bit (FLAC, WAV, APE, DTS, etc.), and MQA.
The NEO S is equipped with a 256G high-speed SSD allowing high-quality audio files to be easily stored and accessed on-demand with the NEO S' fast and stable data reading.
The NEO S supports CD ripping and playback by connecting a CD-ROM via the USB port, which sees the names of albums/songs intelligently matched by the CD's ID via special HASH.
With a built-in 2.4G + 5G dual-band 2R2T MIMO WIFI module, the NEO S has a wireless transmission rate of up to 867Mbps. Connecting your smartphone via Bluetooth is easy due to the flagship Qualcomm CSR8675 module, which supports APTX and LDAC lossless audio compression technology.
There's also a built-in high-performance headphone amplifier that features both 4.4 Balanced and 6.35mm headphone jacks and two selectable gain modes to accommodate the different impedance ranges of headphones.
On the video side, 4K UHD image quality is handled by the Zidoo image engine and the Hexa-core A55 processor, which can easily decode 4K HDR images encoded with HEVC/H.265 standards. Supporting Dolby Vision and HDR10+ processing, BT.2020 wide colour range, and 3840 x 2160 60Hz output, each pixel appears natural, and images are clear and vivid even on a large screen.
The Zidoo NEO S is the ultimate all-in-one for audio and video and is available now for £1,099 (around US$1,450).
