Tannoy Autograph 12 Celebrates The 1954 Original

Tannoy announces the Autograph 12 in recognition of the GRF Autograph, one of the first designs to implement the legendary dual concentric driver.

Mention the name Tannoy to any hi-fi fan, and they'll instantly associate the brand with its invention of the dual concentric driver. This design puts the tweeter in the throat of the mid/bass unit, resulting in improved integration and phase behaviour.

Stepping back in time, one of Tannoy's earliest designs to embrace the dual concentric driver was the GRF Autograph in 1954, a decade before the renowned Monitor Gold Dual Concentric range. Today, we are thrilled to announce the unveiling of a contemporary Autograph at this week's High End Munich show, sparking anticipation for its official release later this year.

The new Autograph 12 speakers celebrate the 70th anniversary of the originals, which Tannoy states are suitable for “larger living spaces”.

As we approach the autumn release, Tannoy will reveal the full specifications and pricing of the Autograph 12. What we can share now is that these two-way floorstanders combine a 12-inch version of the iconic drive unit with a “luxurious” walnut-veneered birch ply cabinet. This design echoes the Applause Award-winning Tannoy Stirling III LZ Special Edition.
