Power Up to Surround Sound with Bluesound

Bluesound owners chasing immersive sound will be pleased to read that a BluOS firmware update available today enables the PowerNode to drive rear channels in a surround sound system.

A much-requested feature by Pulse Soundbar owners, BluOS v3.8.3 delivers this new functionality. Pulse will deliver front left and right channels, while a PowerNode will provide the all-important surround channels. Users can easily set up a home theatre group with the help of an intuitive wizard in the BluOS Controller.

David Matthews, Managing Director of Convoy International, Bluesound's distributor in Australia, told StereoNET:

This is an important milestone in the evolution of the BluOS platform, bringing a significant increase in capability. This is a feature many end-users and retailers have been asking for. It's great to see it come to fruition.

The new firmware release is also said to deliver many new features and improvements, including new commercial music services, AirPlay2 on the NAD M12 and M32 (with MDC BluOS 2i card), Support for MQA CD ripping, Support for MQA CD playback, Option to disable rooms on a NAD CI580, Expanded IR Learning capabilities, new front panel display layouts for the NAD M10, and support for BluOS Controller multitasking on iOS devices.
