Northern Int’l AV Show 2024: Elevating Audio-Visual Experiences in Penang

The Northern International Audio & Visual Show (NIAVS) is back in Penang for its second edition, promising an exciting weekend of audio-visual delights. Happening from April 26th to 28th, 2024, at the Amari SPICE Penang in Malaysia, this premier event, supported by the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau, is gearing up to thrill audiophiles and music enthusiasts alike.

Themed “Visual Voyage, Sonic Story,” this year's NIAVS is poised to redefine sensory experiences. Attendees can expect more than just a showcase of Hi-Fi and AV setups; they'll have the opportunity to engage in discussions and workshops led by industry experts, exploring a wide range of topics beyond traditional Hi-Fi and AV.

At a media conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Gryphon Production Sdn Bhd, the creative brains behind NIAVS, revealed their commitment to celebrating the art of sight and sound. The organizers expressed their dedication to crafting an experience that distinguishes Northern International Audio & Visual Show from conventional Hi-Fi and AV shows.

Wilson Teoh, Director of Gryphon Production, the organizer of NIAVS 2024 told StereoNET:

“The Northern International Audio & Visual Show 2024 adopts a festival platform, promising an immersive journey for attendees. The emphasis is on comprehensive content that extends beyond the confines of Hi-Fi alone.”

Teoh highlighted:

“An important agenda of NIAV is to highlight local talent. We are supportive of locals who are presently designing and manufacturing AV components. Some enthusiasts are manufacturing music servers, amplifiers and speakers but no one is giving them a platform to shine.”

Teoh who is known as an organizer for live music events added:

“I observed that similar audio events in the region were lacking strong content and concept. The usual book a venue, sell out the rooms, etc and it’s a Hi-Fi & AV show. There is no character, no connection. With the experience we have in organising and participating in the production of music festivals, it struck me to bring that ‘technology’ for Hi-Fi shows. EDM music festivals are organised with a strong concept. It is not just setting up a stage and plonking a DJ, then off you go.”

Attendees can look forward to casual performances by local artists throughout the three-day event, culminating in the electrifying “Groove” concert held at the SPICE Rooftop Garden. With promises of an unforgettable evening under the stars, organizers are determined to create an atmosphere that resonates with attendees long after the event concludes.

NIAVS 2024 boasts an impressive lineup of over 100 audio brands represented by more than 30 exhibitors from Malaysia and Internationally. From renowned names such as McIntosh and Sonus faber to emerging innovators, the show promises a captivating array of audio-visual delights to suit every taste and preference. Attendees can find out the list of brands represented here.

Teoh concluded:

“There is a journey for the attendees. You need to give them an experience that will keep them coming back for more.”
