New KEF Elite Room Unveiled in Singapore

If you’ve ever been to the KEF Music Room in Hong Kong, you might feel the new KEF Elite Room in Singapore is rather familiar. Created in collaboration with KEF and Atlas Sound & Vision, this new showroom is designed to showcase the three pillars of KEF: New Media, Component Audio and Architectural.

Michael Tien, Founder and CEO of Atlas Sound & Vision, told StereoNet:

Basically the room was designed based on the concept of the KEF Room in Hong Kong. Of course, KEF Hong Kong is a bit more elaborate, but the idea is that they would like to have a corporate identity that’s consistent across the region. And we’re one of the first KEF Elite rooms in Southeast Asia, so we’re proud of that. It was designed by KEF and we do the heavy lifting by actually building the room.

And show it off, it does. Functioning as more than just a retail space, the showroom has a veritable range of products in this room, from the New Media offerings like the LSX II Wireless and the LS50 Meta and LS60 Wireless collections that can be paired with the KC62 subwoofer.

Additionally, KEF Component Audio products like the Blade, Blade Two Meta and The Reference Meta speakers can also be experienced here upon request.

But more interestingly, the KEF Elite Room also showcases KEF’s up-and-coming product pillar, Architectural, which can allow for spaces to really be designed to a customer’s needs and wants. Built flush into the cabinets and walls, the system comprises KEF Ci5160REFM-THX for the front speakers and centre channel, along with four KEF Ci3160RLb-THX subwoofers spread equally across the front and back of the room.

The LR Ci3160REFM-THX speakers are used for the rear channels, with KEF Ci250RRM-THX speakers for Atmos and surround effects on the ceiling. The whole system is powered by the NAD M17 V2i Surround Sound Preamp Processor and the NAD M27 Multi-Channel Amplifier.

You might be thinking that it looks a bit cluttered with all these speakers, but you don’t have to worry about getting distracted when you’re trying to demo the speakers. The folks at Atlas Sound & Vision have thought of that, so they included an acoustically transparent screen that can hide all the equipment behind so the room now becomes super clean and lets you “listen and believe”, just like the KEF tagline. For movies and visual contents, the room is equipped with a Barco Residential Balder CinemaScope projector.

Additionally, Atlas Sound & Vision has taken over distribution in Singapore for KEF’s portfolio of New Media and Component Audio products since 1 July 2023, so the KEF Elite Room will be one of the best options to be able to try out the whole range of KEF products all in one spot. Employees will also be around to help understand each customer’s needs and guide them to make informed buying decisions based on individual audio preferences and spatial requirements for an ideal home setup.

Lawrence Chu, General Manager, APMEA Distribution & Hong Kong, KEF Audio told StereoNet:

Collaborating closely with our partner, Atlas Sound and Vision, we have developed this concept to offer an unparalleled audio experience. Encouraging customers to "Listen and Believe" in the power of exceptional sound. With its strategic location, commitment to showcasing the KEF brand, and dedication to customer engagement, this KEF Elite store truly stands as a sanctuary for audio enthusiasts across the entire region.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
