LUMIN U2 Mini Streaming Transport Set For High End Munich 2022 Debut
LUMIN's U2 Mini is touted as your DAC's perfect partner and will premiere at High End Munich 2022
The LUMIN U2 Mini network transport features the streaming specialist's all-new processing system mated with a new and faster processor that promises greater resampling flexibility as well as precision timing via a quad native clock system.
The LUMIN U2 Mini benefits from Roon Ready certification and MQA decoding but is also UPnP-friendly and sports the OpenHome audio streaming extension. The compact (60mm x 300mm x 244mm (HxWxD)) unit is compatible with PCM, 44.1khz–768kHz, 16–32-bit, and DSD512, while streaming services onboard include Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, FLAC, Lossless Radio, TuneIn Radio and AirPlay. You also get multi-room support thanks to Songcast while playback is gapless.
The LUMIN app features native support for TIDAL, MQA, Qobuz and TuneIn Radio, should you not be Roon-equipped just yet.
The LUMIN U2 Mini transport features Leedh Processing lossless digital volume control and is compatible with the Lumin infrared control package.
Inputs include RJ45 1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet, a pair of USB ports for storage connection or flash drives; these can also be used for output with native DSD512 support, PCM 44.1khz-768kHz, 16-32bit. Additionally, Optical, Coaxial RCA, Coaxial BNC & AES/EUB. SPDIF outputs are rated at PCM 44.1khz-192kHz, 16-24bit DSD (DoP, DSD over PCM) 2.8MHz, 1bit.
The LUMIN U2 Mini is priced at US$2,390 and features a surface finish taken from the Applause Award-winning Lumin P1 and is available in raw brushed aluminium and black anodised brushed aluminium.
