Innuos ZENmini S Music Server and InnuOS V2.2.0 Announced
The new Innuos ZENmini S packs SSD and uprated RAM and is based on the popular ZENmini Mk3 music server and streamer.
The ZENmini S results from the much-requested solid-state drive (SSD) swap to replace the standard spinning hard drive. Meanwhile, Innuos has also increased the system RAM from 4GB to 8GB. We are told that these new features improve performance and lower noise on the popular music server/streamer making the ZENmini S the quietest and fastest ZENmini available.
The standard ZENmini will remain available with a hard disc drive (HDD) alongside the now available to order ZENmini S. Additional good news is that ZENmini mk2 and mk3 owners can also get in on the action with upgrades becoming available in the coming year.
The ZENmini S is fully compatible with the same optional Linear Power Supply Upgrade (LPSU) that the standard ZENmini uses for even better quality music playback.
The ZENmini S’s SSD also includes a feature that protects your music library on the SSD in case of an unexpected power loss.
The ZEN Mk3 series of music servers/streamers includes ZENmini, ZEN and ZENith, all of which were designed around minimising power noise, reducing vibration and optimising firmware.
In addition to the ZENmini S, Innuos has released the latest version of their custom operating system, InnuOS 2.2.0.
This update works seamlessly with the powerful Innuos Sense App for searching, organising and managing your music library, playlists and more. In addition, Sense seamlessly integrates with popular Hi-Fi streaming services such as Qobuz and Tidal.
New features available on InnuOS 2.2.0 include the ability to manually edit artist information, search new album data directly from providers, automatically get album images when importing music, and play a single track from an album or playlist without auto-playing the next track. You can also view all available alternative album covers and display PDF Booklets, when available, for a more in-depth library.
Furthermore, standalone and endpoint system modes allow usage of Innuos, Roon or HQPlayer setups for flexibility to integrate into your preferred configuration and editing long playlists has now become faster.
The ZENmini S is available to order now, priced at €1,699 with a 1TB SDD, €1,899 for 2TB and a ZENmini S with 4TB of storage will cost you €2,199.
