Devialet Wows Once Again with Dione Soundbar Release
First, it was state-of-the-art amplifiers and space-age loudspeakers, then came earphones from the French luxury audio manufacturer, Devialet. Now the company takes on the highly contested Soundbar market.
Said to “embody the brand's vision”, Devialet wants to elevate sound to its rightful place in people's lives. Credit where it's due, the company has achieved a lot, and gained an equal amount of respect in its short tenure.
The Devialet Dione, the company's first soundbar offers Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 sound, delivered by no less than 17 drivers, “to deliver deep infrabass, dynamic midrange medium, and crystal-clear treble.” It wouldn't be Devialet if it didn't include equal parts of cutting-edge tech. That comes from its proprietary ADH® amplification technology, as the eight built-in SAM®-powered subwoofers remove the need for a separate (invasive) subwoofer, it says.
Devialet Dione is also powered by a suite of further patented technologies that work alongside a specific acoustic architecture to make the sound experience exceptional. Compatible with Dolby Atmos®, Devialet Dione uses Devialet SPACE™ to actively upscale any signal into a 5.1.2, “creating an enveloping spatialisation effect.”
AVL™ equalises sound levels in real-time so listeners can get the impact of the sound effects without missing the crispness of dialogue, while ADE® and room calibration automatically optimise sound for the given position or space.
The patented central ORB®️ allows Devialet Dione to adapt mechanically and acoustically to your in-home placement either mounted on a wall or placed flat on furniture - offering a genuinely “cinematic viewing and listening experiences in 3D, 5.1.2 or stereo configurations.”
Devialet Dione may impress in sound quality, but it hasn't overlooked its design, with premium materials and finishings, including anodised aluminium central core and carefully selected acoustic fabrics to align with high-end audio positioning. The packaging has been purposefully designed to be fully recyclable.
The accompanying app allows you to model your room and calibration, tweak the settings, and select from 4 unique audio modes: Movie and Spatial (5.1.2 upmixing), Music (true stereo rendering), and Voice (medium frequencies highlighting), tailored to different content types and usage.
Devialet Dione is compatible with Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, and Spotify Connect. It can also be connected to your TV via HDMI or TOSLINK optical input for any digital music source.
Available for pre-order now with full availability set to be announced in the coming weeks, the Devialet Dione will sell for US$2,400 | S$3,790 in Asia.
