BluOS 3.16 Brings Dolby Atmos to Bluesound PULSE SOUNDBAR+ and Tunify
BluOS has announced that version 3.16 of its firmware is now ready to update, unleashing the immersive power of Dolby Atmos to the Bluesound PULSE SOUNDBAR+, as well as expanding music service integrations.
BluOS has announced that with v3.16, Dolby Atmos lands on Bluesound's PULSE SOUNDBAR+ launched in March this year, and BluOS-enabled products will further expand their commercially-licensed music service integrations with the addition of Tunify, which may be of particular interest to business owners.
The BluOS implementation of Dolby Atmos in the PULSE SOUNDBAR+ features four virtualisation profiles - Movie, Music, Late Night and Off - giving you more choice for your immersive home theatre experience.
While Dolby Atmos decoded content provides the most realistic Dolby Atmos experience, any content can be virtualised to give you a more expansive and enveloping soundstage, says the company. In addition, we're told that great care has been taken to ensure the timbre of the audio remains natural anywhere in the listening environment.
Of course, this is all in addition to the PULSE SOUNDBAR+'s vast array of connectivity options, including BluOS music streaming system, HDMI eARC, Apple AirPlay 2, two-way aptX HD Bluetooth, TOSLINK, RCA, and USB.
Finally, BluOS 3.16 further expands the integrated music services available within the BluOS ecosystem with the addition of Tunify. Tunify specialises in providing commercially-licensed music to business users. With Tunify, you can choose music to match the atmosphere and/or mood you are looking to achieve.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
