Bit-Perfect Streaming from Musical Fidelity

Billed as a no-nonsense component for audio enthusiasts, the MX-Stream from Musical Fidelity is the brand's first stand-alone streamer.
The company says it's been developed with the same goal in mind as everything at Musical Fidelity - “Technically correct design that measures and sounds like a dream”. Musical Fidelity says that when a new product is developed, it has to be true to the company philosophy, which is to have a warm yet transparent and incredibly detailed sound signature, and not just technical wizardry for the sake of clean measurements. They listen to it, feel it, and have to be moved by it. We certainly can't argue with that approach.
This is why Musical Fidelity's MX-Stream has been proudly entered into the company's portfolio as a true entry into affordable, no-nonsense high-end. The MX-Stream is a universal, transport-only network device that can take any online or network streaming service to your integrated amplifier or DAC.
The company says every incoming digital signal is cleaned up from the beginning. It continues, “all audio files that come in and out, are the best they can be by eliminating all unwanted noise that can be found in common streaming solutions.”
With an optimised software, we were able to push this high-tech hardware design to its absolute limits. All of this results in the first near-zero jitter streamer.
By keeping the architecture 'open', its design is said to make it future-proof, meaning that a decade from now, your MX- Stream will be as relevant as today because it can run any open-source software.
The MX-Stream offers full Roon-Ready certification and support for all lossless high-resolution streaming services available now. Play any hi-res formats (up to 32bit/384kHz and DSD256) and standard network features like NAS support, USB hard drive support, UPNP/DLNA, Bluetooth, Shareport (for iOS devices), web radio, CD-ripping (with external USB CD Drive) with automated tagging and automatic music library indexing.
Inputs include 2 x USB A, 1 x Micro USB B (PC-Detox), Network (Ethernet, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n/d/e/h/i), Bluetooth (Bluetooth Classic + EDR v2.1, v3.0,
v4.0 and Low Energy). Outputs include audio optimised USB A and HDMI (video).
