Audiovector QR 7 Debuts at High End Munich 2022

Audiovector unveiled its “fun” QR 7 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker at High End Munich 2022 hinted at in our preview.

Audiovector's QR 7 is the new flagship of the QR series and is designed to put the fun back into playing music, we were told by Audiovector CEO Mads Klifoth.

More street racer than supercar, the Q 7 boasts a big and vibrant sound with the kind of bass that makes you want to get up and dance.

Whilst the QR 7 has a huge, room-filling sound, it still bears the hallmarks of Audiovector and has been developed, engineered and handmade in Denmark.

The QR 7 sports two 8-inch drivers and a newly developed crossover that create a hyperdynamic yet neutral-sounding speaker with a big, open soundstage.

The QR 7's 3-way system has double Pure Piston bass units with sandwich membranes, a 6-inch midrange and the Audiovector fast and agile Air Motion Transformer tweeter whose rose gold-plated dispersion mesh works as an S-Stop filter and improves driver integration. Due to its high efficiency of 90.5dB, it is easily driven – and promises to be a perfect match for both solid-state and tube amplifiers.

Audiovector says that the QR 7's enclosure is generously braced and made from high-density hardwood HDF that should offer superior strength, low resonance and elegant aesthetics. The tweeter's fascia plates are precision machined from a single piece of aerospace-grade aluminium which are then glass blasted, brushed and then anodised in a tungsten titanium grey colour.

The QR 7 perfectly matches its siblings, the QR Sub, QR Centre and easily placed QR Wall, which add up to providing a powerful home cinema system.

The QR 7 is available at an RRP of £4,950 in three finishes: White Silk, Dark Walnut and Black Piano. International pricing hasn't been shared by the company.
