FiiO FH19 Flagship IEM Sports Customisable Filters
FiiO's new flagship IEM, the FH19 hybrid monitors, boast custom-built drivers, swappable filters and the company's best engineering.
The FH19 hybrid IEMs employ a semi-open configuration that works in concert with FiiO's cavity pressure relief technology and promises a “natural, relaxed sound” with a “wide, open soundstage.”
The FH19's shell is fashioned from 7000 Series Aerospace Aluminium, while its mid-frame features a Titanium construction. Within this, you will find a pair of push-pull dynamic drivers alongside half a dozen balanced armature drivers comprising four covering mids and two SWFK treble units covering a claimed 8Hz-40kHz frequency range with a 109dB/mW@1kHz quoted sensitivity and 16Ω @ 1kHz impedance.
We are told that FiiO has worked hard to create the new dual 13.7mm dynamic drivers, which are arranged in an opposing configuration and sport PU+DLC composite diaphragms. FiiO says this results in “greatly enhanced low-frequency extension, cohesion, and speed for bass frequencies.” Meanwhile, the midrange custom Knowle balanced armature drivers promise “rich musical sound that doesn't sacrifice detail.”
Adding to the flagship cred, the FH19 boasts a suspended voice coil design where the coil leads are directly routed from the centre hole under the diaphragm, eliminating unnecessary contact and additional adhesive load. Moreover, Rubycon film crossover capacitors with an error tolerance of just 0.1 percent, which are said to attain more accurate crossover points, are teamed with FiiO's sound wave guidance structure for greater bass depth and quality.
Finally, FiiO's swappable audio filters. Each of the three filter options offers different levels of internal damping and mesh density so that you can adjust the audio profile of the FH19 according to your preferences. FiiO explains that the red filter enhances bass frequencies, the black filter promises balance and clarity, while the green audio filter “delivers refined and detailed treble”.
FiiO bundles the FH19 with two twist-lock swappable jack plugs – one 3.5mm single-ended and one 4.4mm balanced – and a 1.2m high-purity silver cable. Striving for the perfect fit, you also get 22 pairs of eartips covering various sizes and materials.
