You're being very generous to the dealer. They could fix it but won't. As Rob181 said you could have tried to link your purchase to getting the USB fixed. There aren't many people out there that can shell out those dollars for a DAC.

Nah, it's alright! I have moved on from DC-37.

If you got it fixed then you could sell it to someone else who wants to try Accuphase.

I don't use USB so if it shows up in the classified's i would certainly look hard at it.  I can't justify it already having a perfectly good DAC.  But one always NEEDs an Accuphase DAC.

If you do not need USB then an older DC61 would probably do.You can get them for around $2500 landed.

The best DAC I have used-by a fair margin.Multi bit multi bit 1702s done really well.It even has a volume control.

Probably the biggest bargain in digital you will find.

DAC technology evolves so so fast and it seems the refinements in DAC for SQ never moving backward! This is from a personal's experience, where back 3-4years ago, I played with many many DACs there were at the time, both off the shelves and DIY venture. Of course it's all coming down to personal's taste, budget, emotionally attached to a specific brand, made, technology!

My 2 cents would be, audition it first hand, or best to loan the intended unit for home demo. From there making a more informative decision on ya next investment. I know I had.., and pleased to have chosen Accuphase DAC into my audio journey. This decisive action had distinguished my need for any DIY DAC ever again..!

Hi - does anyone know if switching the voltage on a c-2110 is a straight-forward job?  Thanks for any advice you may have.

Usually units that have voltage 100~240 on the back plate are easy and possible to switch, either with a actual switch or changing the way main transformer is connected.

If only 100v written on the back plate is usually not possible to switch the voltage.

I heard the Trinity DAC and did a lot of research on it..... I came close to buying it but the more I researched the less likely it seemed the right option for me.Hell of a price tag for not a lot in a box with a SMPS. Anyhow Brexit ,2.0 and dCS technology and ongoing support swayed me. Never not liked  dCS the times I have heard it and the Trinities are quite cheap now on the second hand market .....I have seen some for 16k usd .....

I did not hear them side by side unfortunately so maybe in the not too distance future I may just do that comparison in my own setup for a bit of fun..... Kalliope/dCS/Trinity/DC950  now that  would be one hell of a  comparison.

@analog brother heard the Berkely also a nice DAC will have to try and track one down in WA for comparison with the above if I can pull everything together......know anyone who owns one?

Absolutely @Jones99! Name a time and place in W.A and I will bring it over. Who's know, DC-950 might hit the classified page right after?

How how is your Mega  $$$$$ setup now? All are setting in well? Look forward for the audition opportunity, Mate. :)

Ok so you got the DC-950 nice! Look forward to hearing it compared to Kalliope and dCS

System showed real promise no time to set it up really .twins keep me very busy....and only using Diablo 300 to power it which is not a bad integrated but it ain't no Mephisto/Pandora .......I think the dCS is something special and you will like it a lot.
