You don't go to a hifi show to hear what you can at JB Hifi or any audio retailer showroom.  You pay money to hear what is not easily auditioned.

This means new products or exotic products.

I would love to hear some Harbeth 40.1s.

Can't help with you that @@ochremoon - I can guarantee Harbeth Monitor 40.2s though :)

I only know as I have them here running them in for Audio Magic before the show!

Exactly. I did an interview about the show just this week with a national music magazine. I was asked what you can expect to see (and hear)? Part of my answer; ... what can't be heard at your local department store. Real hifi, real music, the way it should be heard.

Is there going to be any substantial headphone range to see?

By the way, I knew that the previous show in Melbourne was put on by the Chester Group and this one is being organised by Marc as SNA , after all I did go to that one and have bought a multi day pass for this one and bought flights and booked a hotel room, but a show is a show is a show regardless of who put it on. I have very high hopes for this, if just the sponsors of the forum showed their wares it would be a ripper of a weekend.

What I would personally like to see at the show is a turntable in Guru's Audio Note room. This room is always a favourite of mine regardless of what's being played and whatever medium but there's a couple of lp tracks I'll bring that I'd love to hear this time.

I tried, very hard, to entice @@guru - :) He's a hard man.

Sadly you won't see Audio Note at this show. Nearly a hundred other brands through :thumb:

Not as much HeadFi as I would like. We do have the giants in Audiotechnica, Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic, along with a few others. Of course there will also be a quite a range of boutique DACs and Headphone amps from various manufacturers I'm told.

While we would love to have them, one distributor who has many of the leading names in HeadFi has not confirmed at this stage though.

That's the way.  I recall some PMC's being front and centre at a show a couple of years ago that weren't run in...they weren't received all that well, unfortunately.

I saw a Facebook update from Marantz last week showing them running in their new models in time for the HiFi Show. It's a no brainer IMO.

Why wouldn't you give your products the best possible chance to sound their best in what is already a challenging environment?

Maybe double check with Audio Magic though; we were discussing the most appropriate Harbeths in this situation and the Super HL5+ model is the one that makes most sense and thus will most likely get the majority of air time at the show. I realise it's a cliche, but the 40.2s can actually sound worse than the HL5s if the room is not sufficiently sized!

Audio Magic has since upgraded to a larger room Cameron. Whichever way he chooses to go, these will be primed and ready if necessary :)

Do we know if Fostex are bringing their speakers, in particular the high end ones?  Or is it just headphones?

Do you need Evil's bovva boys, Sense & Reason to pay em a visit? Pretty sure they'd turn up if visited by those two lads.

Most people do ignore the cost involved in running a room.

Generally do after hours most shows ,just ask Hollis.

Most of my friends are old people so no issue there.

Beatles

Stones

Dylan

That's nice.

I'm sure I have something suitable, but you're welcome.

Haven't a clue, I'm just as lost as you.

Just saw this.

Yes, I can vouch that @@guru works his bottoms off to get your that end game sound.

The gentleman shows genuine love and passion in music, hifi, and Audio Note.

Can't wait to meet this man again, and hear what he manage to conjure up this year.

Alas Guru and his Audio Note gear won't be at the SNA show but will be at the later one. Good excuse for 2 trips to Melbourne I reckon.

Haha thought you could run @@guru....... :P

Having heard some of what Guru has to offer recently I can say pretty confidently the room will be worth hearing.

The man knows his way around a bit of silver !!!

So Bryan is now coming Marc - is that what you are saying?

The Audio Note room is always one of my favourite at any HiFi show I have attended.

I sure can't afford an Ongaku, but the opportunity to listen to some great tunes through one is not to be missed.

Bryan always has alternative 'real' music in his room too.  Great news!

The last couple of shows, I've found myself zoning out in the Audio Note room, just so enjoyable a sound you lose track of time.
