illusion Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 I'd really like to hear one these at the show, they are touted as being the finest source out there. 2
joz Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 @@joz - you run a coffee truck, don't you? Sorry but no I don't But I hope they do a good job on the day.
Guest Muon Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 ACDC original line up...live. Failing this, anything audio.....Too far for me anyway.
Guest yamaha_man Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) Exotics that blow me away, the likelihood of this occurring, Improbable. Edited November 22, 2015 by yamaha_man
Guest Sime Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 It would be nice to have a hands on headphone/headphone amp room, showing off all ranges of heaphones and amps. I'd love to hear a pair of HE1000's etc.
The Fez Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Spot on about the coffee. The show could be the finest ever done -- but if the coffee aint no good - well forget about it! - C'mon in Melbourne, by definition coffee will be great..right 1
Guest Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 If the coffee ain't good, I'll close the show! I'm with you on that one
Kaynin Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 I reckon I had a coffee at the hi-fi show last year...let's just say...it won't be hard to beat!
muzzagruzz Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Would love to see every Australian manufacturer represented and a few completely Australian systems set up - if that's at all possible.
Guest Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Working hard on that. Unfortunately it does cost them money to exhibit, much more than just the exhibition room cost alone. Understandably not all are in the position to do so.
muzzagruzz Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Good on you Marc and I can certainly appreciate that not all Aus manufacturers will be able to attend. I'll be there to support them, that's for sure! 1
holliswhy Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 @@guru I would like to see mid-range (?) gear like the AN-E/ SPE HE, would like to learn more about the different level of gear in the Audio Note range, and have the opportunity to compare the Elrog 300B to other 300B tubes. That's just me

holliswhy Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I believe my wife is accustomed to abandonment (when it comes to hifi.) What's the super e's?
Guest guru Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 (edited) I believe my wife is accustomed to abandonment (when it comes to hifi.) What's the super e's? A 10% bigger version of an e using a 10 inch driver instead of the 8 . Same type of cabinet construction same type of placement, same type of sensitivity with the idea of coupling to the room better so that it energises at a lower level. Been working on them for about 2 years now so first production run may be February-March. Edited December 10, 2015 by guru
holliswhy Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 (edited) Oh wow. Would love to hear them. Edited December 10, 2015 by holliswhy
Darryl Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Bit late to this thread however if I'm going to spend the money to fly from interstate to attend a HiFi show, I'd like to see lots of HiFi porn. Stuff that I see in the mags, and stuff that I can't see in the local shops.
ochremoon Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I would like to hear more analog setups, not just token display turntables but properly set up gear. It won't happen at such a show, but an opportunity to hear some vintage turntables like idler-drives in heavy plinths would be great.
Guest Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 We've got a pretty good offering of turntables already confirmed. Just to name two: Pure Music Group will debut the Air Force 3, and may even have the Air Force 1 setup. Telos Audio will be debuting the Dohmann Helix 1 turntable for the first time in Australia. Both Warwick Freemantle and Mark Dohmann are true analog experts so I have no doubt as to how good their systems will sound. Then of course there is E.A.T, Soulines and many more in other rooms. Analog will be well covered I think 2
Guest Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Brain fade! I know him well too, shhh don't tell him
keyse1 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Any chance of oddly shaped horn speakers with a low powered amp? Still find it hard to imagine loud music from a 10 watt amp 1
daviddsailor Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Forgive me if I'm wrong but I have been attending Melbourne and Sydney shows over the past few years and there doesn't seem to be much 'cash and carry' stuff. By that I mean small accessory items and the like at 'special' prices. 2
awty Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 What do you want to see at a show? Some bikini girls would be nice, actually any girls would be good. When I was a young man I went for a trip to the big city, walked into a crowded bar in Oxford st, there were only men there, for some reason I felt very uncomfortable and had to leave. Educational talks, not just product reviews, but ways of getting the best out of your system like room EQ etc. Come to Brisbane, we wont bite, can even wear shoes and a shirt if its something special. Oh...... and a total ban on playing Steely Dan. That'll do it for me.
