I've been reading up on how to get better sound from a PC and an upgraded clock seems to get a lot of mentions, Neutron stars in particular. Has anyone taken the plunge and changed the clocks like this?

If yes can you tell me of your expereinces and the results please? Also, how do you power your new clocks, have you tried different sources for them and how did that impact/benefit the sound?

Ps. Dac uodates of tbe same ilk are welcome here too.

Dexa neutron star clock upgrade no 3 to my system shortly .... first in my electrocompaniet emc1 ....improvement vast ... through to my tac room corrected pre 2nd installation ...improvement staggering ...now about to fit to my tac TDI 2200 ... last vagrancies of jitter to go ... I'll be operating in femto secs throughout ... obviously I've done all poss mod s , including separate usb mains/ battery source , separate line through furutech mains conditioner , black gated through out , traco capacitor circuitry , separate toroidal power transformers, to pre ... symposium stand and xtra Rollerballs, isolation feel on all components ,cryofused were possible , red jasper quartz deadened rocks, and lined with lead for extra rf isolation . Feeding local built halcyon valve monoblocks..Analysis-Plus-Solo-Crystal-Oval thru zingali ref horns ... sounds good like a top flight analogue system but with staggering dynamics ...

So far these clocks had a huge huge affect on system , removing digital glare , but separation , imaging and bass extension most noticeable.

Will update with news on the last clock effects

Cheers Simon, thats the aim for me. I dont ha e the diy experience though. How did you fit yours? Interesting sounding system btw.

To be honest bud , have the tac agent do it as he's an electrical engineer ... not too hard to do if you have a circuit diagram though I believe ...

Gonna blow your mind the improvement ...these dexa s are 5 times more accurate than anything else commercial available ... have sophisticated noise reduction circuitry ... able to obtain analogue sound stages and awesome , awesome dynamics ....

If i were to do it I'd buy a super duper linear psu for it. Idk why but i just don't like the thoought of batteries in my system. I've heard they behave worse the closer they get to being empty which would bug me too much. Id probably buy another Paul Hynes psu especially for them. I want one for my motherboard, one for my dac and one for my sotm usb card.

Where are you based Simon?

Don't really know enough to comment objectively ,realysm 42 (wasn't that the answer to the universe bud ? Lol .hitch hikers guide anyway , I see both positive and negatives for supporting the battery argument ...However I stand by my vehemently suggesting one could not disappoint with the use of these clocks and the incredible benefits they bring ....

I'd also put them in my toaster and washing machine if in any doubt .!.. I believe them THAT GOOD ....hope that helps in your choosing of them ... I'm based in a rather worrying Johannesburg South Africa at present ,complete with loadshedding and the every present( inevitable) risk of powersurges ...
