doofdoof Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Here's something different... While trying to get more bass from stand mounts in a decent sized room, manufacturers have been increasing woofer sizes to move more air and charge more in the process. Typically, most center speakers should have 2x woofers and a tweeter. The solution is pretty straight forward, just run 2x center speakers as the front L / R channel, problem solved. Anyone tried this? Thanks.
Guest guru Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 You have to love maths. It's the answer to everything.
Tony ray Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Yes and it worked very well 2 Wharfedale modus 7 either side of the TV running off a Yamaha RX-V1 which I switched to 4 ohm I then bought a Dali centre speaker to replace them thinking it would be better but it just sounded lifeless 1
doofdoof Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 So sounding lifeless part, is that to do with the AVR not driving the centers sufficiently?
Tony ray Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I think the lifeless part was due to the fact I had 2 floorstanders as centre then replaced them with a smallish dedicated centre. So my immediate response was it lacked the impact the 2 larger speakers were giving me
