Very popular in NA. I'd very much prefer to build my own and save a good chunk of cash.

How much can it be built for here?

Sure. But some of the fanless models require a build with heatsinks and heatpipes. Not something your everyday Joe - even one who can build a standard PC - can handle.

I had a vendor in the US build me the CAPS4 Pipeline for $2400 US. Sounds very good, better than the fanless ATOM server I previously used. The main reason I bought it is that I can now do stuff like DRC and upsampling to 2X-8X PCM and DSD (2-4X) and use proprietary filtering (HQ Player). You need a pretty powerful PC for that.

.

The various CAPS servers won't sound as good as an Antipodes. But the most expensive CAPS is a fraction of the price of the Antipodes.

Fyi, v2 and v3 used the Streamcom enclosures. These come with there own heatpipe and  heatsink assembly for CPU/GPU. Accessories readily available from Streacom. Want to know how much I spent on a Streacom FC5 case that is/was used in CAPS'? $15. Yes $15 for a case that costs more then $350. In fact I built a CAPS equivalent build 2 years ago to prove a point to a stubborn head-fier with a CAPS v3 for $1500 vs $2000+ from CAPS.

I still have the case though, anybody want it for $350?  ;)
