WhoRu? Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Item: Metrum Octave Mk1 NOS DACLocation: Melbourne (Eastern Suburbs)Price: $550 + shippingItem Condition: GoodReason for selling: Too many DACSPayment Method: Cash , Bank transfer, Paypal (+3%)Extra Info: I'm clearing out the equipment I don't use. I have kept this as a spare DAC having sold the Mk2 version. Sonically they are very similar and frankly the USB input implementation on the MK2 wasn't to my taste anyway and I ended up using the spdif input. An excellent DAC for the money and was the cornerstone of my digital front end for a few years. This is not one of the rare ones that will lock a 192Khz signal however. Has a few marks on the sides of the case but the fascias look clean.
peterr Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Bargain alert. Agree. I have the Mk II with the usb but don't use that input very much. It will be a long time before I part with the Metrum DAC
Kamikaze Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I still love mine!! Probably needs a USB-Spdif unit if you use it in PC>DAC configuration, but brilliant DAC for the asking price. Won't get anything better for $550.
roh008 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Agree. I have the Mk II with the usb but don't use that input very much. It will be a long time before I part with the Metrum DAC Using/listening to mine right now whilst perusing SnA Classifieds.. GLWTS
