The felts are a felt washer/ pad that absorbs a lot of oil and acts as a wick for the bearing. As the bearing heats up it pulls oil out of the felt and transfers it to the spindle shaft to create an oil film. the pull in tension on the spring governs the idler/ capstan interaction, too little and the table won’t rotate, too much and you will get erratic WOW measurements. its easy to get reassembly of the motor a little bit wrong, but equally easy to get right if you take your time and are confident with standard tools.

PM me your address and I will send you some oil for your bearing

crtexcnndrm99 Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Hi Marcus, would this be an ideal mixture for a TD-124 as well? I haven’t used anything but some bearing oil for a Rega, so might be something to improve upon…

They would only produce the oil to my specific requirements if I ordered a rather large drum. i have tested it in Lenco and Commonwealth bearings and motors as well as a Rega rp10 bearing and a few drops in a SP10 mk 2. the results have been very very positive 2
