sub002 Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Hi All, I have an original Rega Planar, complete with Aluminium Platter, sub-platter & ACOS Lustre GST-1 tonearm. I am desperately trying to find some more information about this particular model, especially drive belt size - I have tried a planar 2 belt, but it is too tight! If anyone out there has any information they could share, I would be most appreciative. I believe this to be one of 200 made, just before the introduction of the Planar 2 Attached are some photo's Cheers, Rhys
betty boop Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 lovely ! not that can help, but have you thought of contacting Rega themselves ? am sure they would be most eager to help. alternatively I see you are in "Goulbourn" presumably thats victoria, could contact locally carlton audio visual in melbourne. They have been Rega dealers for years am sure would be able to help out, even if dont have the direct answer straight up.
sub002 Posted March 23, 2015 Author Posted March 23, 2015 Thanks Al?, I have had a tentative reply from rega UK, waiting on more info. at present, hopefully from Roy Gandy. The "Goulburn" is in NSW, southeast of Sydney 1

sub002 Posted March 23, 2015 Author Posted March 23, 2015 I have just heard from Roy Gandy, who has indicated that this model is quite rare, being one of only 100 produced. i have made a tentative request for more info.
Momato Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 I might be late for the party here but any more info on this deck? Found one locally for cheap. Did you find a replacement belt? And any insight on the deck quality? Arm is not original….
SonicArt Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 measure around the drive circumference with cotton and let us know, I might have something that will suit.

What about the replacement belt situation?
e83cc Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 If Rega know the model they should be able to tell you if they have a belt available or where to buy a replacement. If they can't, go and buy something else.
wen Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Reading reviews on belts for Rega's, the "Edwards little blue belter" was the recommendation
