Just because CNC is a thing now, doesn't mean you should ...

The facets on the motor case and turntable base were exceedingly difficult to design and cut.  The main engineer wrote one million lines of code. The various sections are in the CNC machines for a total of 500 hours of machining time. Each facet is different. The idea is to manage and control the residences without sucking out the life and over damping the sound.

I can appreciate the look, but don't feel any luv for it.

American Sound TT

Don't think so - more likely 1 million lines of machine code was generated by the CAD design software being programatically converted to machine code.

Pull the other one - I did an IT project for a company here in NZ running 6  multi axis, multi head CNC stations in a continuous run - they run multiple jobs through the six CNC machines in a continuous run operating 24/7. The cutters required for each job running through are automatically loaded into each CNC station from the CAD programs for each job, no manual intervention required. Completely automated from when the CAD design is loaded.

Raw materials in one end multiple jobs coming out the other - 24/7.

Can't see 20+ days at 24 hours per day of machine time being required to produce that TT. Marketing hype. ( Unless of course they are using antediluvian machinery ).

Well, if nothing else it's an superbly crafted art piece!🤔😉

PS: Much prefer Zoot's cover of 'Eleanor Rigby'.😄
