blakey72 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I remember seeing these guys live at a nightclub in Brisbane called Crash and Burn. Wicked stage show. This freak performed all these Bizzare acts while they were playing like burning himself with a blowtorch, jabbing needles through his cheeks etc. Great show and great industrial music. Here's a link to a sample of 2 of thier tracks: http://www.mp3.com.au/artist.asp?id=4440 And Albums http://www.valverecords.com.au/shop/index.php?cPath=77&osCsid=53d34905e517599f7262475f65348a2d
likwidsh0k Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath is a truely great album. Some awesome blues moments on it. I probably prefer it to Paranoid Yeah only having Paranoid previously I was surprised how bluesy it was, also Master of Reality for some sludge madness! Some instrumental sludge metal.. Echoes of Yul - Echoes of Yul Cool cover, reminded me of the Porcupine Tree one.. review - http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=295245 samples - http://www.allmusic.com/album/echoes-of-yul-r1706612
sligoriverblues Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Exodus - Pleasures Of The Flesh (Century Media) Classic from these Bay Area thrashers!!!
LogicprObe Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Black Sabbath. I'm nearly always spinning them.
sligoriverblues Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Black Sabbath.I'm nearly always spinning them. So, the SG shouldn't be taken as Angus Young but as Tony Iommi then
houdinifangs Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Inherited what looks to be the entire Death back catalogue and couple classic Overkill albums. Several hours of old school thrash/death metal memories ahead...

LogicprObe Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 So, the SG shouldn't be taken as Angus Young but as Tony Iommi then :nana Yes.............they were VERY popular back then. Pete Townshend had one too..............can't recall if he smashed it up?.............probably did, knowing Pete.
Volunteer sir sanders zingmore Posted December 10, 2010 Volunteer Posted December 10, 2010 Just discovered Baroness, "Blue Record" is shaking Glen Iris as we speak
houdinifangs Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Still not to sure about Crack but the first song on Leviathan is my favorite Mastodon track.
Freedom Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Black Sabbath.I'm nearly always spinning them. I keep coming back to them periodically. I think because I didn't get into them for quite some time when I was younger (so didn't overplay them). I can say that I'm still 'discovering' gems !
ols45 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 If you don't mind a shameless plug:nana and you like deathcore My son's band http://www.facebook.com/ParadiseInExile/app_178091127385 He's the the singer/screamer B) Doing big things in Perth (supports for Thy Art is Murder and soon Veil of Maya) Australian tour later this year. Let me know what you think
19hZ Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I had not seen this thread before. Lots of Meshuggah, Mainly a few good tracks for the Gym. I've been revisiting Tool's earlier albums a bit in my recent system setup. I've been leaning away from some of my old classics like Pantera, SoaD, Korn but keep finding Astrocreep 2000 (White Zombie) to be a timeless album. Soundwave was good, but the best gig I've been to recently was Die Antwoord
ols45 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Gallhammer - The End doom crust black metal Girls just wanna have fun
likwidsh0k Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Still not to sure about Crack but the first song on Leviathan is my favorite Mastodon track. Blood and Thunder, Iron Tusk and Naked Burn are my 3 favourite tracks from Leviathan but Crack is my favorite album, luv the proginess

Also might like Fear Factory for some groove industrial metal, Demanufacture, Obsolete and Digimortal. Great track H-K (Hunter Killer) from Demanufacture.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygVbtQJxo5w
DigitalDave Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Awesome choice mate! I was spinning an original pressing of Live After Death today it sounds so amazing.... and then listened to Opeth's Blackwater park, another fine album. 1
LogicprObe Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 (edited) Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath is a truely great album. Some awesome blues moments on it. I probably prefer it to Paranoid Was just listening to it. It's better cause it's rawer, I reckon. By memory they did it in two weeks only overdubbing some extra guitar and vocals. edit - I was wrong....................two days! One day to record it and one day to mix it.............................then back on the road! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sabbath_(album) Edited April 18, 2012 by LogicprObe
houdinifangs Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Really, no-one comes close to THE best live metal album EVER!
Volunteer sir sanders zingmore Posted April 22, 2012 Volunteer Posted April 22, 2012 (edited) Really, no-one comes close to THE best live metal album EVER! It was not released as an album but I reckon "live at the Rainbow" (video here) is better. The bit at the start is clearly the inspiration for the scene in spinal tap when the band gets lost backstage I must confess, I'm a big maiden fan but I never really *loved* anything after Number of the Beast. I think their sound changed - not because of the arrival of Dickinson, they still sounded great on Number of the Beast - I put it down to the departure of Clive Burr. Something about Nicko McBrain's drum sound doesn't do it for me. Edited April 22, 2012 by Whatmore
jemist101 Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Finally got around to picking up the new Napalm Death on vinyl today. Happy, happy, happy man.
