This thread seems to be a bit quiet so I thought I would add to it.  Always enjoyed soundtracks.  Some may argue they are not really music as they are mainly written for one purpose, to augment a movie (or as shown below, games) but there have been some incredible music written in this genre whether or not one watch the movie or play the game.

One particular sub genre of this area is music from video games.  The video games are becoming incredibly sophisticated with budgets rivalling movies. Quite a few famous composers have composed for video games.

Just got the album below on the recommendation from my daughter who played the game.  The composer Darren Korb, came to my attention with his music in the game Bastion which won Best Original Score and Best Song in a game.  He carried on his music with the same vocalist, Ashley Barrett in this album with about 4-5 songs (I have only reached side D in the 2 LPs set).  Most of the other music is electronica, may sound repetitive (it is gaming music, after all ) but has subtle variations in each progression.  It is great background music as I go about my daily chores, and when the songs come on, I have to sit and listen.  I find the singer's vocals quite stunning.

Cracking soundtrack to a brilliant movie.  Best animation I've ever seen, but definitely don't let the kids anywhere near this.  Definitely M18+!

Anyone seen La La Land or heard its soundtrack? This seems original and pretty good.

New Celine Dion song for the live-action Beauty and the Beast film.

I don't think I am fan of the new title track though.

It seems to have 'died' at the box office, but I got a lot out of this pic. My partner thought it was sub-par- I disagreed.

What we both agreed on was the soundtrack, particularly what we heard in the second half of the Film. I confess, I am a tramp for middle - eastern music in general, and this has some beautiful sounds.

It doesn't appear to be out on cd at present. Mores the pity, but there seems to be a few sites that have collated the list.

Geez I know someone who is though. Mention the long face and out he comes on his white charger, resplendent it a natty Canadian coat of arms suit of armour with a particular snarl to his eggy features.

Do not rile the Egg!

I'm sure he'll sniff this out but just in case...  @Eggmeister

I agree both ost and the movie. I really enjoyed the movie - )had that surreal mash, apocalypse now, 3 kings or even jar head view of War and the people in it.

Have you been able to make up a complete cd.

No Dave -  unfortunately I am clueless about the download thing, and I think tracking the individual selections and trying to burn them would have me reaching for the smelling salts.

About 30 years ago. Must hunt down a copy of the movie, as haven't seen it for ages too.
