Steve M Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) Item: Accuphase DP-77 SACD/CD PlayerLocation: Perth Western AustraliaPrice: $4,200 negItem Condition: Excellent 9/10 condition, boxed with remote control & user manual.Reason for selling: RationalisingPayment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD OnlyExtra Info: see belowPictures: see below I didn't think I would be selling this unit as this was to be my last digital player after a long line of contenders. Prior to owning the fabulous Accuphase DP-77, I had tried quite a few players including those from Meridian, Naim, Luxman and the flagship Sony XA-7ES & Sony SCD-777ES top loading SACD player. The Accuphase bested them all with its smooth liquid sound, top notch build quality and the most capable frequency response from top-to-bottom. The bass plumbs deep and tight, midrange is smooth and engaging and the treble sweet and extended. Where the Accuphase really excels is with SACD material, pure DSD sampled at 2.8MHz is sublime. The presentation with hirez recordings is natural and open with absolutely no hard edges, something that seems to plague lesser digital sources. Unusually, the DP-77 has the handy feature of having a digital Input, meaning you can use its internal DA convertors with your own digital transport or a Squeezebox Touch. The internal DAC is capable of handling up to a 24bit/192kHz signal. You can also use it with Computer Audio if you feed the digital input via a SPDIF-USB converter like the Audiophileo, I use a Kingrex UD384 to do this. My Accuphase DP-77 is in superb condition, operates perfectly, no discernible marks on it and has never been repaired or modded. The machine weighs in at 23kg shipped and has an internally switchable power supply and is set for Australian 240v operation. The gold Accuphase remote control is in 'as new' condition and has been stored in a plastic bag, I have been using a universal remote to operate the player. It comes with its original box and user manual. More info here: http://www.accuphase.com/cat/dp-77_e.pdf Auditions welcome for anyone living in Perth. Regards, Steve.
