In my search for a transport...Audionote Gear

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

In my search for a transport, I will be using an old Philips CD950 until I settle on something better, to partner with Audionote Dac 1-Soro S.E Integrated-ANJ Speakers.

I came across this.

www.ebay.com.au/itm/Audio-Note-DAC-Full-24bit-96khz-Digital-Upgrade-/161406249527?

Longshot, but has anyone had any experience with this upgrade?

Regards,

Anthony

Any of the earlier Teac Esoteric VRDS transports, the more money the better the VRDS system.

I have a spare Philips CD960 - fitted with the legendary CD-1 Transport

Could be persuaded to part with it for a fair price

Edit

My CD player / transport of choice is the Marantz CD94 MK II ( double dac )

You will need serious cash and a crowbar to get that off me ;)

I would recommend Lite Audio CD-1 transport. very hard to beat for $650.

I have heard this Lite Audio CD1..... Cannot be beaten at this price, in fact would have to spend over 2-3 K to get same SQ.

Highly recommended.

Thanks all, for the response, much to ponder, will wait on the tax return, may have to involve a little trial and error.

I would seriously consider the one i PM'd you. Very rare to find one with all the original bits and pieces.

Fantastic transport at a reasonable price.

Cheers.

Cash and crowbars wouldn't let me part with my 94 MK II.

Sorry Darren, I was put on a 1 month sabbatical "again" for having a bit of a joke with some voodooist's. As for the Teac I said "something like this" I know it comes from Japan and will be 100v, it may have multiple primary taps on it's mains trany or it could be used also with a step down transformer.

BTW  I'm still pissed at you for getting the JC1's?

And guess who's just got a pair (I don't means balls), Edgar Kramer!!! to drive his Wilson Alexia's, it's about time he got something good for them. When we took a ME1400 up there and showed him what the Alexia's needed, I think it opened up his ears as to what they can really do.

Welcome back bro and good to see you posting here again.

Thanks mate, it was sort of a blessing, actually got more work done, and the customers were happier for it.

I now know what to do if customers are yelling at me for shorter lead times.

Just stick it up some voodooist's again here and Marc will oblige me again.

Cheers George
