Record vs Table saw

shaky

Recommended Posts

Been discussing with an anonymous fellow member here ( I won't dob you in Linc) about making mats for a turntable using various materials, copper aluminium etc. one thing that came up was the recess in the centre of any mat for the label and an accurate way to measure the right depth to be cut out. My suggestion was to stick a sacrificial record through a table/compound mitre saw, cutting through the label and then use calipers to accurately measure the thickness at the label area, deducting thickness of the actual record, and label on other side. Which brings me to the question:

What record (or artist) would you like to see go through a table saw rather than your system? Suggestions so far have been Nana Mouskouri or Engelbert

Not Engelbert, no way. I am a big fan. There, I have said it.

My choice would be T** W****.

Tina Arena is a must do job Tim and our man @@Rob181 has his whole bedroom plastered with albums and stickers and ...stuff. He'll sacrifice an album or two to lessen the the overload from sale bins and charity shops everywhere to help in the cause I'm sure.

He's a very generous man for a Banana Bender.

Thanks for not dobbing me in Tim!

Nana Mouskouri or Kamal for me. $1 at any salvos store will get you a couple of these albums. I'd happily sit back and watch the table saw make short work of them. And this is from a man the screams "blasphemy!" every time I see vinyl "art"!

At the risk of alienating certain readers here @@Luc, Lee, wouldn't Tina sound the same whether being played on a turntable or in a drop saw? Definitely on the list of candidates.

Your welcome Linc. See that I didn't use your real name!

Looks like its Kamahl so far with two mentions.
