terry j Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 It seems to me they misled you and you would have a fair go at getting this solved via their complaints department or Fair Trading. You said you asked for the same plan and showed them the bill. Well there is a huge difference between 500MB and 12GB and they obviously sold you the wrong plan. As a customer you are expecting a level of service and knowledge on their behalf and they simply sold you the wrong thing, no different than buying anything else based on the salesperson recommendations. Take it further! That's the kicker tho, she had it in her bag (and I assumed at first she did show them) but as it turned out she actually didn't show them, the consultant didn't ask for it. So yes, it WAS an assumption on Lindys part she got the same thing. Crossed communication really. She knew (in her head) what she wanted, and thought she got it. That's the point earlier about not going in and deliberately asking for a lesser plan for more money, of course there is the assumption in her head. equally, I would have thought it only natural that for a consultant doing it every day the first question (knowing we were switching) is to find out what plane we'd been on. That she didn't ask kinda confirmed in lindys head (I guess) that the consultant knew her stuff as 'the consultant was so sure of what she was doing there was no need to ask', if you follow. So I guess that part IS up for question, the rest (to us) is not. Yeah dept of fair trading is next we think.

terry j Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Thanks Terry,It's amazing- I haven't even said 1 word in this thread until now and was greeted with those comments. I expect you are referring to my comments in another thread: http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/showpost.php?p=157671&postcount=39 In any event, it's always nice to be reminded that one's contribution made in a friendly and positive sense has been remembered and although considered worthless is still worthy of ridicule. Best JA NOW I understand why I didn't see this JA. It took me so long to type the post (after this of yours) that you posted this whilst I was typing, no wonder it didn't show up in new posts for me. Aww man! First off I'm so glad you had the cahooneys to contact me, others would have just stewed on a real or perceived insult and have said nothing. thanks for that. Crikey JA, it was a joking reference to a comment you had made in another thread about 'open criticism harming someones business' (assume the one you linked to). that was the whole point, I have absolutely no trouble (in my current state of pissedoffedness (new word)) in braying widely and loudly about bigpond. Anyway, no offense meant, but yeah, I'm really really really starting to think I should just completely butt out of this place. Should please many, others not so. whatever. this place lately, it's like walking on broken glass, gotta watch your step. someone somewhere no matter what will get offended no matter what is said no matter who has said what. where does that end up?? talkin about crap, that's where. hardly ANY substantive audio talk, lest yet another flame war erupts I guess. at least (good onya) you had the balls to try and get it cleared up. too many probably just go whimpering to moderators. a topic that's been covered by others in ths thread (not that specific example, but about being a man and talking tha honest talk and clearing things up) also taking resposibilty for your own actions, as I'm trying to do here, clear up a misunderstanding that resulted from my actions. still, lately I do feel people around here should grow thicker hides. I simply don't see any abuse or nastiness here (go take a look at some other forums) and am often gobsmacked (yes, the udiophile gobsmack, like as in 'I can't beleive it maaan' heh heh) about how quickly action by moderators is taken at times, when I can't even detect any nastiness. And to bring that back on topic, that pisses me off heh heh!
Grizzly Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Also- the deliberate misspelling that many companies use for *%#@ knows what reason (kwik, rite, ezy etc). I go out of my way to avoid supporting these companies. Bollocks to em.
JA Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 (edited) I'm really really really starting to think I should just completely butt out of this place. It's funny you should say that, I was thinking exactly the same thing. Best JA Edited October 2, 2008 by JA

Drizt Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I'm really really really starting to think I should just completely butt out of this place. Don't go terry j. Please. I think we all need to find a bit of harmony in this place. I love reading your posts, and I love how you challenge well established audiophile ideals.
Grizzly Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I hope you are not being serious TJ. Stereonet will be diminished by your loss.
davidsss Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Don't go Terry, the Telstra rant is well worth the price of admission. On Telstra, if I were you I would leave them now. When I looked at ISPs a few years ago when we went broadband Telstra were so far off competitive it wasn't funny. I don't know how they sell anyone a 400MB plan, it is insanely small with the image heavy websites which are common now. We have a 10GB on peak + 10GB off peak plan and that is just enough. I also refuse to go with any plan that has extra fees when you go over - we just put up with slow internet if that happens. DS

Apparently an edict had been issued. He said that of 20 people who were found to have Firefox on thier machines I was one of only two who didn't work in the IT department or the help desk. Jeff

Nude Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 God Damned selfish little shits earning decent incomes who won't leave home to stand on their own two feet
cableconnoisseur Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 God Damned selfish little shits earning decent incomes who won't leave home to stand on their own two feet That's a major pet peeve of mine as well. A family friend of ours has kids that are in their 20's (one an engineer, other a software specialist and the third a manager in a large grocery chain) that are earning extremely well................ They still live at home, don't pay a cent for the privilege, don't lift a finger to assist with the chores (inside or outside the home), merely come and go whenever they please................ And.........the parents are quite content to leave matters as they presently stand. 'Nuff said.
