Been putting off posting my system until it's finished. Alas, I realised it might not ever be finished. So here it is for the moment!?!

Audio Note AN-E/Lx HE Speakers

Trafomatic Audi Experience Two Integrated with Shuguang Black Treasure 300B's, Sophia Electric 6SN7's & Emission Labs 5U4G valves

Kuzma Stabi S TT

Kuzma Stogi S VTA 12" Arm

Zyx R-100 FX Cartridge

Bakoon EQA-11R Phono Pre

WLM Gamma Reference Firewire Dac

2013 Mac Mini 16GB Ram 120GB SSD running Audirvana Plus

Lacie Thunderbolt 4TB Fanless HD

Oppo BDP 103

Chang Lightspeed X-Series H1 Power Conditioner

Sablon Panatela IC's

Sablon Gran Corona PC's

Audio Note Lexus Biwired SC's

Oyaide Neo d+ Firewire cable

Akiko Audio Tuning Sticks

HiFi Tuning Supreme Fuses for everything

Stillpoints with inverted risers under amp

Herbie's Isocups and Ebony balls under digital

Herbie's Decoupling Gliders under speaker spikes and rack

Herbie's Tube Dampers

Atomic Labs Mac Mini Platform

Gingko Audio Cloud 10 wih Herbie's Medicin Ball's under Kuzma

In the future I hope to upgrade the 300B's to Elrog's or Emission Labs 300B XLS, throw in a Mojo Audio Joule IV linear power supply for the Mac, get better isolation footers for everything including between the speakers and their stands and finally send my Sablon Panatela SC's back to Mark Coles to have him change the spades to banana's and Biwired for my AN-e's...............then I think I'll be finished...........or at least bloody close!!! Perhaps, then it will be time to clean up those cables?

Oh, and by the way 300B's and Audio Note speakers can Rock and do Techno with the best of them. My musical preferences are not chicks with guitars and small ensemble jazz (although I do love jazz). My favourite band of all time is Led Zeppelin. I grew up on classic rock and when I was a rebellious dick of a teenager I delved deeply into heavy british metal and also thrash and I still do. I also had a big clubbing phase and still love to dance around my living room listening to house and techno as well as putting some angry Hip Hop on from time to time to let loose. You just need to choose a good pairing of speakers and amps. Yes, I'm sure a big pair of solid state mono's through some big boy speakers like Wilson's or such might have more slam etc. But the Audio Note's through the Trafomatic give me a sense of presence and intimacy that I truly enjoy and they match well to my apartment living room which I've come to realise is of utmost importance. Especially when you want to share your system and music with your loved one who also occupies that space!

So there it is. I hope it gives you an insight into my system philosophy and if you have any advice, comments or questions, please feel free to ask or share.

Cheers,

Glen.

Ps, apologies for the bad lighting and crap iphone pics......I will try and get some better one's up soon.

Wow, very nice selection of components, it really looks like a great deal of thought has gone into the system. Bet Led Zep II sounds good on your system!

Might say Hi (on a professional basis) next trip to Sydney early September.

Beautiful!  I especially love the look of the timber audio rack. :thumb:

And I really appreciate the insight into your audio philosophy.  I'd never thought of Audio Note and Led Zep in the same context, but what you have said makes sense to me.

This is definitely a system I'd be keen on experiencing if you were local.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Yes DRC, a great deal of thought has gone into it as well as trial and error. And a great deal of more thought will go into it I'm sure, but for the moment I have 2 maxed out credit cards, a big business loan and a car to pay off. After all that is done, I might be able to chase the Audio Note dragon and go down that slippery path. One thing is for sure, I love low powered amps and highly efficient speakers. The new vinyl release of Zep II is sounding great right now! Feel free to drop into Bentley when you're in town. What wine are you making?

You need to see your doctor cos Iron Maiden made you deaf!!

I had the double tape, long ago. I haven't listened to Live After Death for years.

I did drop in a chat and espresso briefly a year or so ago (more so about hi fi). Coates is the label. Catching up with Ned on the next trip for lunch all going well, we studied the MW at the same time (passed at the same time but the dissertation has been a nightmare for me) and have common friends in Japan.

Congrats, beautiful looking system and no doubt sounds even better.

Love the hi fi rack and those speakers look very special.

Duane! Sorry, wasn't sure if it was you, or Brad from Brash Higgins? Always great to see you mate, so please feel free any time to drop by.

Yep, I also had the double cassette as a kid. One of my favourite live albums, I highly recommend picking it up, or downloading it. It will take you back! The opening of "Aces High" will make you grin like you're 15 again.

What a beautiful system! Very aesthetically pleasing.

It sounds good just looking at it.

You forgot to mention the Apple TV that is firmly coupled to the rack by the owl. Good idea as it is so small it tends to flip up when you plug all the cables in.

It really is a superb sounding system I have had the pleasure of listening to.

Congrats Glen on a fine setup to give you years of musical pleasure.

Hi Steve, yeah, the owl does keep the Apple TV grounded. I didn't mention it or the Wireworld HDMI and power cables cause I use it for movies and TV shows and don't use it for streaming any music.

Thanks Victor, that means a lot coming from you, as yours is probably the most serious system I've had a chance to listen to. Your Shindo gear is so sexy, but out of my price bracket at the moment I'm afraid.

Hi Glen

Is your inbox full?

Was hoping to drop by next week and say Hi at work whilst doing the trade stuff in Sydney.

Posted

excellent system! was wondering where you got your audio rack/stand from?

Thanks jdog, I had the stand made for me by a carpenter in Marrickville. It's basically a replica of a box furniture rack.

Hi Duane, I left a message in your inbox yesterday. Don't think mine is full.
