soundfan Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) Good news for those chasing some of their early catalogue, as some of them fetch high prices on ebay and the like. All except Storytelling (soundtrack) are being reissued. I have all their catalogue, but only have Push Barman...... and The Life Pursuit on CD. Will pick those upon vinyl to have everything in that format. http://www.belleandsebastian.com/news/it-could-have-been-a-brilliant-career-back-catalogue-vinyl-reissues Looking forward to the new album too, B&S are one of my favourite bands. Demondes Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Yes that is good news. They are a great band who slipped under many peoples radar, including mine as I was late to the party I grabbed a whole bunch of their albums on vinyl from a seller on stereonet a few years back, for a good price too.
soundfan Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Just thought I'd mention that IMO they did a great job generally with these reissues. The 2 albums I needed on vinyl (Push Barman... and The Life Pursuit) sound excellent. I couldn't help myself, and also purchased If You're Feeling Sinister (Matador pressing) again, already owning a Jeepster first pressing.I did so after reading comments here on the forum from a member liking the reissue over an earlier pressing. The reissue is very good, but for mine, doesn't beat the original. And the artwork on front cover of reissue is washed out as well.
metal beat Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Agree Chris I bought the Matador US pressed ( as they were half the Euro pressings) Life Pursuit and Dear Catastrophe waitress as they were missing in my collection . Both sound excellent considering they were most probably from digital masters. I will stick with my original pressings for the other lp's. cheers 1
