Guest yamaha_man Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Just wondering if anyone here has a VW Transporter or Ford Transit van they could hire me for a day or 2 this week or next??? Doubt i'll get an offer but worth a try.
Guest Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) You gonna be flogging "surplus" hifi gear in the parkinglot behind the servo? Edited August 12, 2014 by Dirty_vinylpusher
Guest yamaha_man Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Yes, only my gear will be worth listening to.
Sir Triode Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) http://www.goget.com.au/find-cars/our-fleet/ They have vans for hire too. Edited August 12, 2014 by Sir Triode
Guest Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014  I'm sure he's aware of the existence of car rental businesses.
mello yello Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 they ask too many questions like, "do you have a drivers license" 1
mello yello Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 "do you have any unpaid traffic violations" i think he wants someone he can say yes to, such as, "will you promise to bring it back"
henry218 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Do it one by one with your car (im assuming this is for the TADs)
Sir Triode Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 BTW - the VW Transporter is about the same size as the High Ace - perhaps you meant VW Crafter which has the tall roof version like the transit?
Addicted to music Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I will hire one for you, only if you donate the TADs so they reside permanently in Point Cook
Guest Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) Yes, only my gear will be worth listening to.The Krzâcznîkla speakers I bought a few years back are still going strong.Really cheap too. Apparently they aren't even available in stores. Which I found strange at the time, as the guy said they had been given one set too many at the warehouse to take to the store..... His mate with the balaclava didn't speak at all however. They even offered to come around to my house and install them! Said I could leave the key out if I wasn't home. How's that for service. ^_^ Edited August 12, 2014 by Dirty_vinylpusher
Guest yamaha_man Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 These boxes are big and heavy! 200kg each, 1600 high and 800 square. Won't fit in a car. Need big van, trying to keep away from a truck.
Guest yamaha_man Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Moving all my hifi to new house. The reason l want a van instead of a truck is i can keep an eye on the load in a van but with a truck it isn't that easy.

MKSOUND_HT Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 On the roof racks maybe? Just watch for low bridges hehe You'd be suprised how cheap Budget can be on certain days of the week for a Mini Truck, can be driven on a normal licence. Definitely a good second option. Might cost you $150 or so 1

MKSOUND_HT Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Not only do you have to think about low bridges, but keep an eye out for leaning light polls I always forget about that one lol. How far is the move? Could always grab a pair of hand trolleys and wheel them to your new location. Would a trailer work? You could get a box trailer pretty easily that should fit them in height wise and will keep those babies out of the weather.
