Optional phono or DAC cards can be installed on input 1. Compact preamp with case machined from a solid aluminium billet with seperate internal milled cavity for the power supply. Outstanding build quality as you would expect from this maker. Ships in factory carton, with supplied remote and US style ac cord. Here is what Rowland say about the Capri S2: "the Capri S2 even exceeds the renowned performance of JRDG classic designs. The extreme linearity, super low noise and super low distortion and speed of this tiny power conversion module make the Capri a highly refined linestage sporting a very small circuit topology, with the shortest signal path ever implemented in a JRDG preamplifier. During extended break in of 500 to 700 hours, Capri S2 gradually assumes the JRDG hallmark of a sensuous and grain free musicality within a vast 3-dimensional virtual sound stage--even more extended and sensuously linear than the famed Coherence II and Consonance reference linestages. Capri S2 has greater bass definition, more complex exposure of harmonic structure, and it exhibits a sweeter treble. It reveals even greater low level detail, and exceeds its renowned classic predecessors in transient speed, authority, as well as in macro and micro dynamics."
