catman Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 G'day all, after a fairly rugged sort of week, this Sunday evening sees me listening to the ABC Classic FM excellent Jazz Track program on FM. It sounds so good on my little Tivoli One Radio. I love my little Tivoli Radio! I'd be lost without mine. Any love for the little Tivoli One Radio? Regards, Felix.
A J Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Yep we have a one and a two - 2 of my wife's favourite things. 1
943 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Don't have a Tivoli One but I have a Tivoli PAL which is great (apart from the "rubberized" coating which has perished). Great sound from such a little unit and the tuning is spot on. (Also have a 3 yr old called Felix)
Carrera1963 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Bought one for my Dad's birthday a few years back - great little thing... Needed an extra radio for home recently, and managed to find one on eBay for $60
betty boop Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 good to see tivoli now has DAB+ versions…but I'd be tempted to get a bose wave radio instead for the same money :O
firefly0071 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I have a Tivoli One purchased 10 years ago in London. The best part is the tuning in terms of getting the correct radio station.
Phill451 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I have a tivoli one as well as a tivoli clock radio with tivoli sub. The One is superior to the clock radio. I have convinced more people about the benefits of decent sound by suggesting they listen to my tivoli one than my B&W sig 805s.
catman Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 G'day all, thanks for all comments. Interestingly enough I particularly like the sound of AM through the Tivoli, although FM is likewise superb. I have a long time interest in high fidelity AM as detailed in here: http://sound.westhost.com/articles/am-radio.htm and I think that the Tivoli comes very close to the sound quality of some of my own high fidelity AM tuner designs. In fact a recent design that I have developed using a simple transistor detector and a FET RF stage is very reminiscent of the Tivoli AM sound with 'nice', clear, low distortion/wide audio bandwidth sound quality. Regards, Felix (vk4fuq).
firefly0071 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Try the DAB+ version! Well made products and are built to last.
Kensell21 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I have a tivoli clock radio as well. Great to wake to RN in the mornings on the weekends. Both Geraldine on Saturdays and Jonathan voice is well suited for a morning lay in. Classic FM is good vibes for going to sleep at night...
Milos Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 (edited) Just bought a Tivoli two stereo radio with a BT adapter. Bough here in France off the Tivoli Outlet store for half RRP price!! I'm going mad waiting for my HI FI to arrive from australia and needed a kitchen set up to get me through the next few weeks..... Good to know there's a small ST following of Tivoli Audio for the kitchen / cooking context! M Edited December 1, 2014 by Milos
