Interested. Can you tell me what do you use upstream to the speakers?

I'll purchase them if the other parts upstream don't cost too much. Looking for a tertiary system ;)

edit. Meant to ask, what would you use, not "what do you use"

Mate you just missed out it was set up with a little creek 4040 sounded great but it has since gone to a good home ;)

I've got them hooked up in the lounge just for demo purposes.

Thanks

Your more than welcome to the speakers though!

I do have a meridian 566 factory 24bit dac in mint condition and a bel canto evo2i integrated (has an issue) pm me if interested in putting together as a system :)

I'm thinking of doing a little project with my dusty ol' Asus Essence STX.

Pretty much thinking of buying a Streacom NC1-WY (fanless case) and putting the internal DAC in there, output to an intergrated, and out to the speakers.

Am going to put this in the office to see if floor standers work in that environment. I don't want to spend over 1.5k, and the computer, ex. the soundcard, is probably going to be around the $800 mark as is.

I have an Asus stx card for a pc which I'll get rid of also if interested

Cheers

Where abouts are you located?

I think I'll do an audition if it isn't too inconvenient.

Nice speakers. I've got a pair in storage that I've owned since new. Great sound for the price .

oK i give up

What is a "tertiary system"??

It is the system that is given lower priority than a secondary system, but higher than a quaternary system.

In all seriousness, just means the third system I will set up. All gear will trickle down from the primary system when it gets an upgrade, where suitable.

Me too. Can't bare to part with them despite faded veneer. Mine will also soon be set up as a tertiary system in the upstairs kids retreat.

I paid $1500 in '98 iirc along a Sony es 5.1 amp and matching DVD player, one of the first available in Oz. I think there was something like 12 DVD titles available in this country at the time of purchase.
