Can I disrecommend "Under the Skin", cause it's really **** boring.  Best part is the boobs, but can't really say they're SJ's.

I do recommend : Transcendence.

Aaaah yes remember hearing about that.

Looks ok.

Not watched it yet....

:(

How about now? :) Well worth it

Didn't think much of Transcendence I gotta admit, apparently the ideas mused where in line/agreement with some of the famed 'futurologists' but I found it a bit unbelievable, and yeah JD pretty much gave the textbook performance of 'phoning in' on this one.

I saw it about 2 weeks ago and thought Transcendence and really liked it. The technology side of things was quite fascinating too.

GONE GIRL, one of the most disturbed movie i have ever watched. its a 9 for me though :D

One of the best murder scenes in film, bar none.  Don't want to give too much away because the flick is new, but it got a physical reaction from everyone sitting around me!  Absolute cracker...reminds of Slayer's third album "Reign In Blood"!

Unlikely, who hasn't seen it or the trailer on just about every horror VHS in the 80s.. gotta admit after the iconic scene though the rest of the movie didn't live upto the hype or the awesome as were most 80s movie cover/poster..

Yes, it's always good having a laugh at how they blew us away at the time, but just look so different now.  We still enjoy them, of course, because we grew up with them, so certainly good from a nostalgic perspective.

I watched the original Evil Dead about 2 weeks ago, when that first came out the special effects scared the crap out of me, but the other week I just had a laugh.  Entertaining though!

Ah the Evil Dead stop-motion SFX are the bomb!

I still have the unedited Star Wars VHS set somewhere. Would love to watch them again without all the new additions, just for the sake of it.

Yeah is definitely some nostalgia for sure, but the 80s was a pretty golden age for horror goodness, often with dark comedy in the mix :thumb:

Evil Dead Hail to The King Baby!

Elm Street, Friday 13th, Howling, American Werewolf, Fright Night, Phantasm 2, Re-Animator, Lifeforce (had to get a mention)

Creepshow 2 Thanks for the ride, lady.

On a somwhat different note, 'Kill The Irishman'. This is based on the true story of Danny Greene, a union organiser

in the US during the 70s who resented the influence of the Italian mafia, and set out to form his own Irish mafia gang.

Much murder (literally) and mayhem ensued, until he met his end.

Borrowed the blu-ray of this from my local library, and watched it last night. I found it quite an engrossing movie. The acting

is quite good, although I did think some of the editing seemed a bit clumsy at times. (I suspect that they may have done some last minute editing to tone down some of the more violent scenes, which seem to jump a little bit.) Quite a good movie overall though.

The blu-ray also contains a 60 minute documentary which chronicles the Danny Greene story.

Classic.  I forgot all about that one.  That was a catch-phrase at high school for ages after seeing that film...
