I have purchased many albums for my 4 year old daughter who I am trying to pass the vinyl bug on to.

For the most part it's Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.

No problem with either artist and I really don't mind throwing on one of her LP's in between my preferred listening choices.

However recently I have been putting on Taylor Swift's Red without being asked.

I know this genre and this type of artist is primarily marketed towards teen girls but the album is a... well... really good.

It's really well crafted, superbly written and the vinyl sounds spectacular.

However I am ashamed to say that when my mates come over and flick through my collection when they get to either Katy or Taylor I am quick to point out that it's my daughters :D

So come on fess up what is your guilt pleasure?

Promise not to judge... photos welcome.

Ha ha. Hi  Audacity

I also have those Taylor swift LP's , Katy Perry but not the picture disc.  Lorde, Churches,  Lady Gaga - the new album is a ripper, Kylie to name a few.  All enjoyable albums.

Of course I bought them for my teen daughters ;)

I think Elton John summed up "Guilty Pleasures" thing best when he said he thought it was BS, just a perpetuation of rock snobbery, you either like the music or you don't. Mind that was probably after seeing himself on a few guilty pleasures lists ;-)

For me, last week I picked up a minty vinyl copy of Dare by the Human League for $3. First time I'd listened to it for over 30 years. Better than I remembered, the darker songs really interesting, and plenty of references that went over my head as a 14yo. I didn't quite get the Ramones references or the swagger of Love Action, "This is Phil talking..."

Surprised there hasn't been a Gary Numanesque re-assessment.

I've a soft spot for Christopher Cross' s/t, Lionel Richie's Can't Slow Down and Whitney Houston's s/t. Also a big fan of any 80's compilation LP's.
