Gossip - Paul Kelly on vinyl at Tivoli Hifi

Recommended Posts

Just popped in to Tivoli HiFi and saw 2 copies of Paul Kelly's 'Gossip' on vinyl for $25!!!!!!!!

Reissues from US. One of my favourite Oz albums of all time.

Only ONE copy left now!!!!

Double album?

Gossip was a double LP is Australia, but I think the original US release was pruned down to a single LP.

Double Australian LP version is in dire need of a re-press, based on the second hand prices listed at Discogs, Ebay etc

It's one of the few remaining "must replace" albums from my stolen vinyl collection. The single US version wouldn't have healed the wound :-(

I picked up Gossip along with Under the Sun, 2nd hand from a shop here in Adelaide. $35 for the two.

Both in mint nick, these sound amazing.

I don't have much mushroom records vinyl, but the pressing quality is as good as I've heard and the dynamic range is stunning.

I wasn't a huge PK fan before listening to these in full, but now it's worked itself into rotation!

Ha har.

I have the original pressing Aussie double album version. The single LP version is probably like the single CD version, which was a remix and nit as good judging by the time i heard it.

My copy is clean, quiet ( i put my LPs straight on tape at that time) and i have a high bit rate rip (96 or 192, i forget) off a fully sick :-) Linn Sondek for my DAC as well.

This was the soundtrack of my 80s and of a boys road trip to the Adelaide Grand Prix.

Only the double album will do.
