So far we've got Benje, elcamry, 3G_ ( later), Frankn (hopefully).

padre_power  can't make it now and neither can Darthlaker.

Will definitely be happening - hopefully some nice Reds, warm fires, good company and  good music.

No problem with numbers, and last minute attendees are fine.

Cheers

Suresh

Hi Greg

If you could burn a disc that would be fantastic. I have a Copy which has been "shaved" by Goran @ Sydney HiFi. He said compare this disc to any version and it would blow them away.

Regards. Frank. See you tomorrow

Missed a good one Gent's.... Always nice to be in a room where the equipment can breathe. One day I'm going to put myself in such a nice sized room. The SF's always sound good and Suresh was very hospitable as always. Good to see a few others of the audio intelligentsia

Will be back for the next one

Well, at least " the late Tony M" made it to the GTG in time to comprise the evening shift. ;)

But I was able to catch up with some of the usual suspects and to enjoy their company while getting an initial taste of Suresh's impressive system, befitting it's location in what must be the most magnificent listening room I could imagine - well, it sort of fits with the house, though, doesn't it? :thumb:

And yet, I feel a bit guilty that we were suggesting all sorts of wildly-imaginative modifications to Suresh, mainly aimed at taming the lush and full bass that was clearly getting the polished floorboards involved and excited and , perhaps, clouding a little of the detail higher up.  As Suresh pointed out, he normally listens at a slightly lower volume and the coupling of the speakers to the floor isn't so much of an issue.  I was thinking on the way home that it might even be beneficial to the sound at lower volumes.

Suresh, thanks again for the warm welcome and hospitality and I look forward hopefully to spending some more time in that beautiful room, getting to know those gorgeous Sonus Fabers better and gaining a better understanding of their capabilities.

A good afternoon was had by all in the most spacious room short of a ballroom I have been in for a while , thanks to our gracious host Suresh.

Only problem I have now is to buy more music after being there . :)

Gentlemen, thank you for a very emjoyable afternoon.

The company, as always, was great, and as usual, there's now some more music on my shopping list.

The power board comparison was interesting, as was the "shaved" CD. I think that we could all hear, and describe diifferences - the hard part is working out whether a difference is an improvement.

I agree that the bass was a bit overdone wirh those last few tracks, but I'm not sure how I can go about taming it without affecting the the aesthetics of the room - Frank had some good suggestions that I could follow up on.

Tony, feel free to drop in again some time. Most evenings, after the kids go to bed, are fine, as long as the volume doesnt go up too high and wake them! That goes for anyone else who would like to listen.

If we reallly want to crank things up, then I have to wait for a more Family Friendly time.

Cheers

Suresh
