Item: Meridian 101B preamplifier / control unit
Location: Melbourne
Price: $275 Now reduced to $250
Item Condition: 7/10
Reason for selling: Too much stuff
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, EFT, COD Only
Extra Info: This preamp was fully serviced 6 years ago and is in excellent condition for its age. Have all receipts & original manual

This is the superior fully discrete circuit model which trumps the op-amp version sonically

It is fitted with a moving coil phono module and was a perfect match with a high output Dynavector cartridge I ran through it.

Should also be ideal with a MM of around 2 - 2.5mv

I am selling with a full set of interconnects - Phono DIN to female RCA, DIN to 4 RCA leads with Van Damme cable (which can be used as tape out) and Teflon coated silver plated DIN to RCA for connecting to a power amp

These leads alone cost over $200

Can post at additional cost to buyer - should be around $15 to most statespost-116153-0-78638800-1403067009_thumb.post-116153-0-87560300-1403067040_thumb.post-116153-0-07600700-1403067069_thumb.post-116153-0-59053300-1403067093_thumb.post-116153-0-79864000-1403067126_thumb.

My son would love this

Would be more than happy to help him!

This was when I seriously started to hear what good hi-fi is all about - quality components and construction and ingenious design!  ;)

This with the 105 monoblocs sold for $2500 in 1977 - huge money back then and I could only dream of affording them on the pittance I earned as a youth around that time  :(

As luck would have it a friend picked up the 101/105 combo and I saw the potential and after taking it off his hands I spent mega $$ getting them totally restored including recapping the 105's with Rifa high quality 6800mf caps.

However got itchy feet as good as these were and I'd rather move it on than have it sitting around waiting for another project to incorporate it in.

This looks very interesting, although I have never heard one. I would really love to hear the combination with the mono block power amps too.

I remember my dad telling me how that combination were really the bees's knees back in the day but he never got to own them.

All the best with the sale.

I have fond memories of the M2s with a Kenwood LO7D turntable, but way out of my budget at the time!

They are a sweet sounding speaker that images very well. Sadly, mine are relegated to a lesser system.

Tempting! I have a pair of Meridian M2 Active speakers that have the 105 amps built in.

Is the perfect match!  :D

Clive now thats a component for a decent vintage system

Tele

What lesser system?

Or do you mean the stack in the garage near Cinder's lawn mowers?

In the upstairs media area at the top of the stairs. It was right outside the room you stayed in.

Now reduced price to $250

These very rarely come up for sale here in Australia and you don't know what you're getting condition wise from o/s
