Hi all,

I had my eye on a vintage PS-48 Hitachi turntable on eBay, but sadly missed out by a few dollars.

I've just picked up a Cambridge Audio 640P Phono to add to my current setup (listed in sig).

Ideally I would love an old skool fat wooden plinth 125/160 Thorens/Dual/PS-30II Pioneer/Hitachi type TT, but will consider any decent well priced TT.

Let me know what you have.

Thanks.

Had a couple of PM's... Would love to hear from more though.

Come on you analog junkies, no doubt you've a bounty of unused TT's just lying around.

You should state your budget up front.

It might help members who may he able to offer something suitable.

Fair call... budget ideally around $500, but willing to spend more for the right deal.

Hopefully the pic worked, typing from my phone.

She's a Thorens TD-160 mk 1. Besides a couple of small issues, she's in good overall condition. A Grado(?) needle which seems to be in good nic.

First step is to have a good listen, then give it a proper clean up... She's a wee bit dirty.

I'm rapt, got it for what I think is a very good deal :-)

Sweet! I love my td 160, although it now runs with rega arm, 16v motor and the project speed box. That's an awesome first (or second or third!) turntable that should sound great stock and take many mods should you wish to divest yourself of further funds. Good score Chris

Thanks Dan!! I think so too! :-)

It does need a new headshell (arm broken off) and it has no lid, but hopefully I can track them down easy enough. If not, it works fine as is!!!

Hope the rega is still chugging away ;-)

You can have a set on type lid (ie no hinges) made by a plastic fabricator, from my experience and research is the most cost effective way to go. And do you mean the finger lift on the headshell? Because if so I'd just get used to cuing without it, those buggers are hard to come by!

The rega cd spinner is still rockin'! But does play second fiddle to the analogue side of things...
