Item: "Bigger is Better" DIY speakers using CSS EL70 fullrange drivers

Price: $200 for speakers as is or $70 for cabinets if you want to fit different drivers - open to offers on both

Item Condition: Great (they're DIY so fit and finish may leave a little to be desired if fussy)

Reason for selling: Have to downsize

Extra Info: Owned for over 3 years, these are the first and only DIY speakers I've ever made (and the only full range speakers I've ever owned) and are possibly the best speakers I've ever owned! Often described as a party speaker, this is an unfair description as the BiB design can reproduce music beautifully when required. I've been powering the speakers with a 50wpc TK2050 amplifier resulting in a fantastic and non-fatiguing sound with plenty of power in reserve. The full range drivers are absolutely superb, I added Karlsson slots to the original design which improved them sonically. The bass is staggering from such a small driver.

Happy to audition these speakers for anyone using my amplifier, bring your own amps etc if required. In my opinion, they are absolutely brilliant and it is a very very regretful sale. They are possibly seen as a bit low-end for this forum, but bang for buck is incredible.

Hi Wil,

 

Dimensions are 1440 (h) x 320 (d) x 210 (w). They seem to be fine in different types of room, and happiest when in a corner but currently I run one in a corner and one not and it's fine.

Speakers are now only available without drivers as I have decided to keep the drivers for future projects.

 

Sale is due to move country and cabinets will have to be destroyed if no one gives them a new home. They weigh approximately 15kg each and are very well made.
