Art Watson Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Hi All A while ago I picked up a Shelter MkII cartridge at a good price and along the journey I had also swapped out the Pro-Ject 9 tomearm on my TT for a new Pro-Ject 9cc. Last night I was finally bringing these things together. First thing I found after attaching the cart was the clamps for the four tiny tonearm wires (where they attach to the cart - sorry, I don't know the name for the metal attachments I'm calling clamps beacuse these ones don't look like the 'tubes' I was more used to previously) were quite short and quite 'open' or wide (for lack of a better word). In combination with the connections on back of the Shelter cart being shorter than any I've seen previously it means I didn't get a snug fit and they would just fall straight back out. So I went to crimp one of the tonearm connections with needlenose pliers. And snapped it off. I need someone who can solder it back - I THINK this might be a reasonably simple job (it was a clean break and the clamp thing doesn't seem damaged) but I'm hoping to find someone who might be able to set the whole thing up at the same time: work out how to get the 4 connections to stay nicely in place and set the cart alignment, VTF etc. In Melbourne. Anyone know who I should call? Thanks, Dylan/Art
