One of the standout performances on the record

half the song is I think just Bob and the backing female singers and a piano

not too many words or at least different words

more instruments toward the end of the song

pretty sure these shows were booed inSan Francisco at the time complete with walkouts

Also pretty sure I would not have liked or understood what I was hearing at that time if I had been there

like most Dylan fanatics I would have been too hung up on Blood On The Tracks And Highway 61 to have appreciated it

just Bob the female gospel back up singers and a piano I think

One of Bob’s best love songs ever

Beautifully written and sung from Nashville Skyline

And now a 5 minute rewrite of lust and electricity shouted at the top of his voice leaving no doubt as to the reason for relocating upstairs

Another simple song from Nashville Skyline

I never knew what I had

till I threw it all away

a simple acknowledgement of his role in the mess he was in

ironically on this record it precedes

Idiot Wind in full blame unforgiving mode

i remember seeing this tv show in the late 70’s and for Dylan fanatics it was a rare and exiting event

in modern parlance a real WTF moment after years of the recorded versions of these songs and then these confrontational shouted electric guitar driven

Versions

how close to tv screen is it possible to sit without leaving print?

Never been seen again on tv although I have a bootleg video of it

incredible stuff

Sometimes I wish I give up beer

Not right now of course

something more refined and less health threatening

sophisticated

red wine

whiskey

but beer seems to just “go” with rock n roll

live or in my garage

doesnt seem to matter

My Christmas present finally arrived, very excited.

Being a big Bob fan not sure whether to drink it or keep it.

Fortunately my brother managed to get three bottles, so will drink his ...:hiccup8AF32F47-01AB-402B-9434-A0096274905C.thumb.jpeg.97da09cc8db0575d1cae8b2a869e4930.jpeg

Is that a Highway 61 quality?

Or a Self Portrait quality? drop

@keyse1  inspires with his deft focus on the scintilla of his Bobness' work.  It has been many a year since I saw his 6 Entertainment Centre shows in Sydney, and teh proportion of annual listening time he represents has certainly dropped since then for me.  But he is a touchstone, a place to always come back to.  You find so much in what he has found interesting to put out to the awaiting crowd, whatever the motive.  Persusing this forum earlier i was led to this album.  I have always loved it, as the voice tells you these songs meant something to the artist.

And then there was that "memorable" duet with Tom Petty on "I've Forgotten More"

@Mendes

have you left town?

How is the Bob’s whiskey?

@keyse1...... still here, just not been lurking lately.

Bob's whiskey left me a bit disappointed. Lot's of heat and from memory 50+ % ABV

As a whiskey maker, Bob is a good singer B)

Take care now...:thumb:

I have always thought this a great moment in the Saved album.  I have not yet laid out the cold hard on this release and i may just have to expedite that decision.

87 versions including false starts of 10 songs

So not for the casual fan

Or sad people who don’t get Bob?

The problem with this amount of information about Blood On The Tracks Or any of the electric 60’s  records is that the subject records are the best records ever made so alternate takes are interesting but not crucial listening unlike say Tell Tale Signs with alternate takes and unreleased songs that are not just better than the released ones but reinforce Dylan’s greatnesses as an artist at a time he was considered too far from his prime to be of equal importance to the 60’s or 70’s

i am glad that a lot of the songs even though sounding fully formed from the very first take were re recorded a few months later and given the benefit of a more intense vocal take that is Blood On The Tracks

Very hotly debated amongst Dylan fanatics

Also stands as a testament to what a great singer Dylan is as he tries out different voices For the right one to match some of his best and most personal lyrics

Wasn’t my intention at 10 o’clock this morning when I started listening to More Blood More Tracks but here I am 6 hours later with minor interruptions for food and healthy alcohol and still stuck on you know who

Hellfire and damnation

Israel Folau and our happy clapping Prime Minister should take a lesson from this

After a year or so of sometimes obsessive listening it’s close to my favourite Dylan record outside Blood On The Tracks And the 60’s stuff

Killer song

musically could be from Blonde On Blonde

Not lyrically or vocally

Odd because nothing else sounds faintly like Blonde On Blonde

And the next song is so beautifully sung and written from I think Desire but could be wrong on that

Sounds nothing like the first version of the song that I heard on Biograph

Said this many times before in relation to Dylan how on earth coulda song as good as this never be released but awful ones get released

I don’t get it
