gz76 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Out of curiosity, what was the sound quality like of 8 track? The only experience I ever had with it was listening to Slim Dusty in my uncle's Ford F-100 as a kid.
gz76 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 (I'm assuming it was sh!t since no one talks about it)
Guest Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 LOL Released April 1, for anyone that doesn't pick up on it (just in case!) 1
illusion Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I had such high hopes, especially watching the guy screw up the pic of Justin Beiber. Ahhh 8 track ~sigh~ memories of my Eagles 8 track cartridge in my Torana GTR. 1

Clydemount Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 @@gz76 re the sound quality of 8 tracks. The nearest modern day equivalent is the mp3 - which doesn't sound quite as good.
gz76 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Really, 8 track sounds better than mp3? At what bit rate? That surprises me, I always thought 8 track was a 'convenience over quality' format but that doesn't seem to be too bad actually (assuming highest bit rates).
illusion Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Bet you wish that you still had the car. Nobody misses eight track though. Marc, my dad worked for GMH back in those days and I got the car through the employees purchase quite cheaply. Half decent models are pulling 50K nowadays.
Monkeyboi Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Bring back the 8 track! Ha ha! Steve, This only works if you had posted it on the 1st April. 1
SteveC Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Yes well I consider the US to be behind us in many ways.
